Memories Of Summer 2017

Posted on the 13 September 2017 by Sparklesandstretchmarks @raine_fairy
This Summer has been one of the best I can remember in years, and although the weather has now turned colder and I feel the need to snuggle under my mermaid blanket most evenings...I wanted to share some photos from it.
Not to brag but because I want to remind myself of the fun we had when the days turn darker, and the memories become more clouded...now that the boys are all becoming a little more independent I'm finding that days out and trips away are becoming more and more fun.
In June, we made the most of the lovely weather we had early on with days spent at the beach...our favorite local beach to go to is Exmouth. Its about an hours drive from where we live which may seem silly as there are several beaches right on our door step, but this beach has always been special to me...I love the surrounding area with amusements and old fashioned boat swings, and I love the ice cream hut on the beach that sells the best ice cream around in my opinion! Even the drive there is a pleasant one, it's one of my favorite summer days out.

We also took a last minute trip in June which is something we love to do...we headed to The Lizard in Cornwall, an area we hadn't visited before and it was stunning...Kynance Cove was one of the most beautiful places I've seen, and we had such a lovely relaxing week in the sunshine.

We also managed to squeeze in a trip to Paultons Park...sadly the weather didn't hold out for this one and it was the rainiest day we've had there but it was still such a fun day out anyway!

And we also had some gorgeous hot days at home, making the most of the back yard and the paddling pool!

One of our favorite summer activities is Strawberry Picking at Lipton Pick Your Own Farm Shop...this summer it was lovely to see all 3 boys roaming around the strawberry fields together and having fun taste testing of course!

Going into July, we had a bit of a quieter time but with lots of fun still had...making the most of the light evenings and running around at the park when we would usually be getting the boys into bed...

And also enjoying late dinners out, and making the most of the entertainment on around the Bay and surrounding areas...watching the Lindyhop dancers in Exeter was something I really enjoyed!

At the start of August, Jon & I took Tyne for a trip to London...he'd wanted to visit for ages and we thought it would be a lovely treat to have some one on one time with him before he started school. We all really enjoyed the mini break, and Tyne is still talking about all the fun he had a month later!
We visited Buckingham Palace, The Clink Prison Museum and Kidzania while we there (and met Fearne Cotton at an event too).

A few weeks later we headed to Buckinghamshire to meet up with my friend Alex and her family, we had a lovely day out with them and the following day we visited the Roald Dahl museum which as a huge fan of his...I absolutely loved!

We also managed to fit in meeting up with a friend of mine from an online baby forum and a visit to my parents in Liverpool, which the kids always love too!

And finally, the weekend before school started, we took Tyne for a little weekend break in the Isle Of Wight...somewhere none of us had visited before but would love to go back to...it was the ideal end to a lovely summer.

I was determined to really make the most of the last summer before Tyne started big school and I feel like we achieved that...I'm already looking forward to next Summer! Summer 2018 you have a lot to live up to!
