Today was my very first Mothers Day as a Mum and it felt special, as most 'firsts' do. I woke up with my Husband and my gorgeous little nearly-a-year-old boy and I felt complete. My first Mothers Day with my perfect little family.
We'd pick out a few little treats for me during the week, make-up brushes that I'd had my eye on for a while and a mascara and also a lovely floral umbrella that was a bit of a find in Accessorize whilst buying a voucher for my MIL. I know how fortunate I am to have received such lovely gifts and also to have such a wonderful family. I feel very lucky.
We spent the day doing our separate things whilst Ethan napped for what seemed like hours (I'm sure the clock going forward played havoc with his routine a bit today). I cleaned up the house then wrote an outstanding review and giveaway which goes live tomorrow morning. Whilst my Husband painted our front door, it looks absolutely brilliant, I'm so proud of him, as he was feeling very unconfident before he started.
At five o' clock we walked up to the local village pub with my in-laws and my husbands sister where we indulged in a really lovely meal and a few drinks. I'm finding that the area we've moved into just has such a friendly and warm atmosphere and everything feels just so chilled. I am absolutely loving it.
Afterwards we walked back and sat in front of the fire in our jammies and when Ethan fell asleep we snuggled up on an single armchair together and finally caught up on The Walking Dead.
It was such a lovely day and one I'll always look back on and remember with happiness.
I hope all you fellow Mums and Mums-to-be have had an equally fantastic day today with your families!
