Movie Review: Paranormal Activity 4

Are they ever going to get tired of their boring old posters? Thank the heavens we're finally at the last of the Paranormal Activity movies (so far).
Paranormal Activity 4 is set 5 years after the second movie. The story revolves around an average suburban family who, this time around, are not moving into a new house as with the other films, but have new neighbors in town, instead. As time progresses and as expected, all sorts of crazy ensues.
It was barely watchable for me. The only real reason to watch this is if you've spent all those hours watching the first movies and are curious about what happens next.  On the plus side, unlike the last movie, characters here are back to being slightly interesting.
Some aspects of the film are unrealistic, like the excessive involvement of the Microsoft Kinect. Add to that, the fact that the plot is getting increasingly out-of-this-world with every new movie. I think the charm that the series had was how subtle and low-key the events and scares were, and with each new movie it seems they are drifting further and further away from that.
Verdict 2.5/5 - Can only be appreciated, if at all, by fans of the earlier movies.
