Sooo… most of you were right! We’ve got some new digs.

Carload by carload, we’re moving in.

We’ve got a lot to do…

… but slowly but surely…

… as we clean and unpack…

We’re putting together a home.

We may not be quite at the level of the guys over at Young House Love, but I’m excited to share our progress with you!

Right now, one of my biggest jobs is to figure out where to put all my things… I think B’s just starting to understand what I meant when I confessed, “So, I have kind of a lot of clothes….” Exhibit A: the ironing board, temporarily doubling as a clothes rack.

We did a big shop at the Target in East Harlem this weekend…

… and got fun stuff like silverware. For 8! I feel like such an adult.

We had our first meal in the apartment, too. It was just as it should be: sitting on the floor, eating out of take-out containers, using a cooler as a table.

We visited Go Vegan (also called Pure Food) twice for a quick lunch. You can eat in or take it to go, and they have an amazing spread.

Think Whole Foods hot bar, but with more of a selection. There were great things like quinoa veggie burgers, massaged kale salad, sweet potatoes with walnuts, spicy tofu, grape leaves…

… and the most delicious cauliflower soup. Note to self: make cauliflower soup once we’re settled.

We also had a fun lunch at Cafe Bar with my mom, who took us out to celebrate. IMG_5912.JPG

I’ve been a few times before, and I still really like it. Their dinner is good, but I think brunch is what they do best. (They also have really great salads.)

My poached eggs with smoked salmon, grilled tomatoes and asparagus were quite good! Salmon and eggs, I’ve missed you.

So yeah… it’s an exciting time in these parts! More to come :-)
