Mummy Mondays Part 2: Can Vitamins Be Fun?!
Posted on the 19 August 2013 by Sparklesandstretchmarks @raine_fairy
All mothers want to know that they're filling their kids full of the right vitamins, but once they reach a certain age they can become quite fussy with what they eat - making it very difficult to ensure that they're getting the right nutrients. Vitamin supplements are an ideal way of ensuring that your child is getting their fill, but even getting those down them can be a challenge at times... My nieces, for example, are possibly the worlds fussiest eaters! They both refuse to eat their vegetables and will scream bloody murder if anybody tries to force them to do so - traditional vitamins are no different, and its no picnic trying to force them down! So when I was recently asked to try out Holland & Barrets new Peppa Pig Vitamin Gummies I was intrigued to see what Amelie & Lottie would make of them.... As huge Peppa Pig fans, they were massively excited as soon as I gave the boxes to them! I didn't tell them what was inside, nor did they ask - they automatically assumed that, because Peppa Pig was on the packaging, this was something fun and something they definitely wanted! Both of them asked their mom straight away if they could "Have the sweeties" - their Mum of course said yes, and they dove right in - they munched their way through the 3 sweets in the pack and both seemed to enjoy them! Of course they asked for more, but were told that they could have more tomorrow - which was met with a resounding "Yay!" from both of them! I was very pleasantly surprised at how much of a success the vitamins were and how easy it seems to be to get them down such fussy little eaters merely by disguising them a little as something fun! There are 3 Peppa Pig vitamin packs available: Calcium & Vitamin D Gummy Packscontain strawberry and banana milkshake flavoured gummies. Forming an important part of your child’s teeth and bone development and speeding up the body’s metabolism, these packs are great for supplementing their recommended daily allowance (RDA). The Peppa Pig Multivitamin Gummies and George Multivitamin Gummies provide Vitamin A, B12, C, D and E to your child’s RDA. Providing a fun and tasty way for you to ensure they are getting all the necessary vitamins they need, they are available in four fruity flavours: Apple, Blackcurrant, Strawberry and Orange. The Peppa Pig Vitamin C Gummiesare available in tangy Orange and Lemon flavours, and provide 150% of your child’s RDA of Vitamin C. A vital part of maintaining and boosting their immune system, these gummies are high in anti-oxidants, perfect for when the winter months set in. The new supplements are available in seven separate sachets – one for everyday of the week. Each sachet contains three individual fruit flavoured gummy vitamins shaped as a character from the well-loved children’s TV show. Suitable for children aged 3+, Peppa Pig Vitamins are a fun way to help ensure your child’s daily vitamin intake. Priced at £2.49 for seven sachets they are available at Holland and Barrett stores nationwide and online at www.hollandandbarrett.com. What tricks do you have for getting your children to eat well?! As always, I'd love to hear from you!
