My Bucket List

Many people make a bucket list when they find out the devastating news from their doctor that they only have a few days, weeks, or months to live. So they decide that instead of sitting at home and crying the blues, they choose to make a list of all the things that they have always wanted to do…and they choose to do those things, throwing all caution to the wind. This is their way of “going out happy.”

Well, although I’m not dying, I was inspired by a friend to make a bucket list of my own. I’ve already done some phenomenal things that I thought I’d never do such as I received my bachelor’s degree in Communications, I was once a co-owner of a thrift store, I lived in Pittsburgh for nine months to see what it was like, and I tackled the hard task of climbing Stone Mountain and reaching the top of it, TWICE. (If you ever been to Georgia and you’ve never climbed Stone Mountain, please do so. It’s a major accomplishment).

Here’s a picture of my friends and I on top of Stone Mountain (after we was able to catch our breath):

Anyway, my point is that I’m 35 years old and there are still a lot of things that I haven’t done yet and before I end up with gray hair and bad teeth, I wanna be able to live my life to absolute fullest. I’ve spent a lot of time paying bills but not enough time living my life. Bills are always gonna be around no matter how old you get but I wanna have some unforgettable special  moments in my life regardless of bills. So here’s my bucket list:

1. I wanna be able to go to Napa Valley Vineyards and have a great glass of red wine.

2. Go visit California and see the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

3. Go visit New York (I should’ve paid a visit there long time ago).

4. See the sights in London.

5. Spend one weekend in a gorgeous suite at The W Hotel and drink champagne like a rock star.

6. Eat dinner at Paula Deen’s restaurant.

7. Go visit Las Vegas

8. Lose at least 80 pounds and wear a bikini for the first time.

9. Meet Tyler Perry.

10. Go to a Jill Scott performance.

11. PAY OFF MY CAR NOTE!!!

12. Visit my birthplace of San Antonio.

13. Go for a Susan G. Komen 3-Day walk

14. Quit my day job and live my dream as a writer.

Yes, I know that a lot of these things on my bucket list will definitely require money. And before you ask, yes, I accept cash and all major credit cards.
