Yesterday was World Book Day and it was an opportunity for all the little ones (and bigger ones) to dress up as a character from one of their favorite books. At first I wasn't sure what I'd dress him up in but after a little browse on Amazon for cheap fancy dress costumes we came across this monkey outfit and knew it would make a great fit with one of Ethans favorite books, "Monkey Puzzle'.
He can be quite funny about costumes and such and especially about hats, so we didn't know if he would wear it. But after we explained about him being the monkey from one of his favorite books and how lots of other children would be dressing up for the day, he got quite in to it. He kept the hat on long enough for us to snap this quick picture, but after that it did come off. Which was a shame as I think it's totally adorable!
It was our first time joining in for World Book Day and we had such fun. I might not always feel like it in years to come, but I kind of like the whole dressing up/doing something special at nursery/school for the kids, days. It's really nice for them I think and fun to do something a little different!
