My Debenhams AW14 Competition Entry!

Posted on the 08 October 2014 by Sparklesandstretchmarks @raine_fairy
As I've been housebound recently thanks to the ongoing morning sickness I'm suffering with, I have been finding most of my entertainment by way of good old online shopping!
Of course the downside of this is the negative impact my recent spending sprees have had on my bank balance!
So when I stumbled across Debenhams AW14 Blogger Competition I was in my element! This gave me the perfect excuse to window shop without actually purchasing (as tempting as it was!).
Debenhams challenged bloggers to put together two outfits from their current ranges....one for myself and one for a nominated fellow blogger.
I chose to design an outfit for my sister Laura, who blogs at www.firsttwothenblue.com
Laura is a busy mom of 3 young children and so doesn't often have the opportunity to treat herself.
I can't think of anybody more deserving of a treat than her, as she dedicates her life to running around after others - always putting her families needs ahead of her own.
These days you can find Laura most mornings out on the school run, ferrying her school age children back and forth while still caring for her baby son and the two young children she looks after in her job as a child minder.
Laura has a figure to die for, and as the much rounder sister it always bugs me that she doesn't take advantage of this...prefering to cover herself up with oversized jumpers and leggings...I always tell her that if I had her figure i'd barely wear any clothes!
So having the chance to hypothetically dress her has been lots of fun!
Here's what I chose:
Lauras outfit

Floozie by Frost French polka dot handbag / Red Herring Ivory honeycomb knitted jumper- at Debenhams.com / H! by Henry Holland Pastel pink boucle coat- at Debenhams.com / Designer gray checked kilt / Light pink pom pom knit snood / Light pink pom pom knit bobble hat
I think this outfit is perfect paired with some thick black tights for winter - it shows off her killer pins and the sweater gives her the comfort she wants while still showing off her figure. The coat, hat and snood set are perfect for throwing over the top on the school run throughout winter, and the bag is the perfect finishing touch....and still big enough to carry nappies and bottles!
After choosing Laura's outfit, I then put together an outfit for myself.
hayleys outfit

Pink purse / Star by Julien Macdonald Designer pale pink studded top- at... / Floozie by Frost French Ladies rose gold plated heart patterned watch-... / Faith Grey patent suedette bow shoes- at Debenhams.com
I opted for this gorgeous studded top as it looks classic, timeless and elegant but seems to me that it would also offer comfort and room for bump too! I would pair this with a pair of comfortable gray jeggings.
Flats are a must for me right now and it can be so hard to find a stylish pair, but I adore the bow detailing on these!
The rose gold watch and STUNNING bag finish it off perfectly for me!
Hmmm....I know I said I was just window shopping but I have really talked myself in to this outfit! I think I might need it?!
I hope you've enjoyed my entry into the Debenhams AW14 blogger competition, and don't forget to go over to my sisters blog at www.firsttwothenblue.com to see her outfit choices!
