Fainting bouts, Momma's shouts
"Change your lifestyle", she'd say out loud
Papa folds in, tucks me in
Sip of Pepsi, put some sugar in
Fever and tonsils, kept Mom on edge
"Here's your medicine for everything!".
Bitter poison, then sweet intake -
"Here's some lemonade", Papa did make.
Missed school in hospital, check my vitals
Coma, IV needles, mom's in and out of
Papa got them to take the IVs off
Time for ice cream, Frooti, and play doll.
I'm a big girl, too much stress,
Hormone imbalance, birth control pills
"Change your lifestyle", she still said
I think I should finally clean up my mess.
Mom's always right. We never listen to her, but always realize we should've. Their love is forever, like a diamond. She's my diamond. Happy Mother's Day, Mommy!
