My Experience With Cosmic Ordering

My Experience With Cosmic Ordering
For a little while now, I've been chatting on Instagram about my experiences with cosmic ordering ...and I recieve a lot of questions about it! So today I thought I'd share a little more about it.
If you're unfamiliar with the term "cosmic ordering", perhaps you know it by another name. You may have heard it referred to as manifesting or the law of attraction instead...there are many names that are used to describe this sort of thing, but the concepts behind them are all along the same lines.
The basic concept is the belief that we have the ability to attract things into our lives through the power of positive thought.
That you can manifest anything in to your life through the power of true belief, positive affirmations and - of course - action.
And on the flip side, that you can also keep negative influences in your life by getting in to a negative mindset which sees you attract more negative things to you.
It's quite a straight forward concept and there are a few different ways to go about doing it. Some people create vision boards displaying their desires and wishes, some simply use mantras and spoken affirmations...but the principle is always the same. Which is that if there is something that you want to attract in to your life...put it out into the universe in some way. Ask for it, and then act as though it is already yours. And in time, it will be.
Sounds a little crazy, right?!
Of course it does! The vast majority of us go through our lives every day, consumed by completing all of the necessary tasks to keep things ticking over. Our minds are filled with to-do lists, money worries, relationship concerns, and all manner of other things that keep our brains ever-busy and ever occupied.
We rarely stop to take it all in. And by "it all" I mean the bigger questions in life. How often do we stop to contemplate the fact that we're all basically residing on a huge rotating ball in the middle of a vast and seemingly endless universe?! How often do we contemplate that the very fact that we're here, existing as a species, is an unbelievable occurence in itself. How often do we think about the fact that no matter what religion or science tells us....there are always questions about life and the universe that can't be answered.
So when you stop and take all of these incredible things that we take for granted every day into account...IS the law of attraction really that crazy?! Is anything really that crazy?!
I tend not to think so.
I like to stay open minded about most things in life. I don't have the answers to everything so who am I to say that anything is 100% untrue?
On the other hand though, I DO have a certain amount of healthy scepticism.
I believe in the possibility of most things, but I'm rarely able to accept things as fact unless I can prove their existence or effectiveness to myself.
Over the years there have been many books made on the subject of the law of attraction, and many famous people who claim to have had great success with it.
One of the most famous stories being Noel Edmonds...who, after having very little TV work following his Noel's House Party years, put out an "order" into the universe for a new and exciting project. Shortly after, he found himself back on TV hosting Deal or No Deal. One of the most successful TV shows in recent history.
There are other celebrities who have used it, too - including minor TV celebs who "cosmic ordered" their place on Dancing On Ice, and Big Brother winners who manifested their winning stint on the show.
Arguably the most famous work on the subject of cosmic ordering and the law of attraction is the best selling book The Secret (which was also made into a documentary that is currently available on Netflix).
But this wasn't how I was first introduced to the concept.  Instead I first heard about cosmic ordering around 10 years ago, through a work friend.
This friend of mine was quite a spiritual person, and - as she came from Hungary originally - she would often talk about little traditions and beliefs from her homeland which I was unfamiliar with. I loved hearing about this sort of thing, and eventually through our chats - I came to learn about cosmic ordering.
My friend told me about how she had used cosmic ordering to attract her husband. She described to me how she sat one evening and wrote out a "shopping list for the universe" -  a list of things she wanted to happen.
These included a specific man she was interested in, requesting that he forget about his other girlfriends and finally commit to her and her only. She put a deadline date on the list, and if memory serves me correctly I believe she then flushed the list away. Her order complete, she went about her life as though her wish was already granted and she was just waiting for it to come true.
And sure enough, it did.
It was a great story to listen to but of course, I was super sceptical.
Surely that relationship would have happened the way it did anyway and it was just a coincidence?!
However, I was at a point in my life where I needed some big changes.
I was stuck in a horrible and abusive relationship that I wanted to end but couldn't find the strength to leave. There was also a man at work who I was attracted to, but the situation was much too complicated and I was quite sure he hadn't even noticed me anyway.
So I decided to give cosmic ordering a try. I had nothing to lose.
I sat down one evening, and wrote out my shopping list for the universe.
I was very specific about what I wanted to happen and when I wanted it to happen by.
I folded that list up, and kept it in my purse.
If I'm totally honest, I then totally forgot about it. Life was chaotic for me at that time, and over the course of the following months I went through some major life upheavals - including the end of that awful relationship.
It was only when I was clearing out my old handbag a couple of years later that I stumbled across that cosmic shopping list again. And much to my surprise, as I read through the list...I realised that every single thing I had written on it had happened.
The man at work whose name I had written down on that list and "ordered" as my future boyfriend? It was Jon...my current partner.
I had written that I wanted us to have taken a holiday abroad together within 6 months. Sure enough, we had enjoyed an amazing mediterranean cruise holiday shortly after getting together.
And my final wish? Was that we'd have a child together. As I read over that list, I was days away from giving birth to the first of our 3 sons.
The cosmic order certainly seemed to have been fulfilled.
Upon hearing about the power of cosmic ordering, most people usually say something along the lines of "But if it was that easy, everyone would do it! We'd all be lottery winners!"
But the fact is, most of us are simply too preoccupied with our lives to think about things like the law of attraction.
I am living proof of that!
After that incredible experience, surely you'd think I'd spend my days cosmic ordering lottery wins and palatial homes?! But I didn't.
Life was moving at full speed, and I didn't even give cosmic ordering a second thought again until earlier this year...over 6 years on from that day!
This year though, I decided it was time to try it again...and this time, I wanted to test the water.
So instead of starting off with big extravagant demands, I started small.
I wanted to order something VERY specific to prove to myself that it had appeared in my life because of my wish for it to do so, and not just by coincidence.
And so...I cosmic ordered something quite random. The first thing that came into my head. I ordered the sight of a red sail boat.
I wrote down the words "Today I want to see a bright red sail boat".
Random, right?! I didn't ask to own a red boat...just simply to see one. But it had to be a sail boat...no other type of boat would do. It had to be red...no other color would do. And it had to be THAT very day..tomorrow would not do.
So later on that day as we drove past the seafront, I eagerly looked out across the water - keen to spot my boat! But there was no boat to be seen. Not a red one or one of any other colour, for that matter.
Disappointed, I moved on with my day, assuming my test to be a failure. I wouldn't be going near the sea again that day, so I figured the window for the universe to show my boat to me had passed.
So imagine my surprise when later on, I came home to find a leaflet pushed through my door - with an image of a big, bright red, sailboat emblazoned on the front!
Coincidence?! Sure...maybe it was. You'd be totally within your rights to think that.
Or maybe it wasn't and cosmic ordering had once again proven itself to me?
I figured there was certainly no harm in believing it to be the latter.
And so, I decided to set some intentions for the year ahead.
Some big ones, and some smaller.
And slowly but surely over the course of this year, I've watched as one after the other has come in to my reality.
Now I'm a little bit superstitious, so I'm not ready to reveal exactly what I've asked the universe for just yet....but I will do when the year is out. As it stands, 5 out of the 11 things on my list have materialised so far.
Now don't get me wrong...believing in and trusting the power of manifesting doesn't mean that negative things won't happen.
Infact just a few weeks I amazed myself when I manifested the sudden appearance of a very specific amount of money into my life. It came in the form of an unexpected job which required very little work from me (someone basically asked if they could pay me to use photographs I had already taken), and paid me the exact amount of money I had asked for.
I was, of course, thrilled!
However, the next day...an unexpected bill cropped up and the money was gone just as quickly as it had appeared.
But still...I used it as an opportunity to work on how I responded to that situation. To work on my gratitude.
Gratitude is a vital part of cosmic ordering. If you go in to it with any doubt or negativity, then doubt & negativity is what you'll recieve back. If you approach life with an attitude of being grateful for what you do have, you recieve more things to be grateful for.
When that money disappeared as quickly as it had arrived, I could have thought "Oh what's the point?! I'm never any better off! Money will always be a problem for me"...but instead I chose to respond with gratitude...by telling myself that had I not secured that money the previous day, we wouldn't have been able to pay that surprise bill at all...which would have caused a lot of trouble for us. So it was in fact a very positive thing.
I believe this has been my biggest lesson with cosmic ordering. That it's taught me to think about my responses to the things that happen in my life.
To learn to practice gratitude for the good things that happen, and to try my hardest to look for the good in all things...because I've found that when I look hard enough, there is often at least a little bit of good to be found in most situations. Even the ones that first appear to be very negative.
Now don't get me wrong, I know that there are MANY situations which are impossible to see the good in and I would never claim that cosmic ordering is right for every person.
But if you are this way inclined and you're open to the possibility - what do you have to lose from giving it a try?
The main issue with cosmic ordering is that in order for it to work, you need to really believe that you will recieve what you ask for.
Some people find that this limits what they can manifest, because some things are too far beyond their own belief. If you find this to be the case, start with something smaller.
I also think it's important to set a deadline, too. If you're not specific about when you want something to happen, you could wait your entire life for it to materialise.
And finally, don't close yourself off to opportunities that could be the universe's way of bringing your order in to your life.
If you've asked for a new boyfriend but you refuse to take any opportunity to speak to men, then how can that happen? If you order money in to your life, and a job offer comes your way that would pay what you've asked for but you turn it down...how can you then complain that the universe didn't grant your request?
I believe that the universe will present opportunities to you in line with your desires, but it can't do all of the work for you.
So that, in a nutshell, is cosmic ordering!
Yes I know it will sound totally whacky to many people and that's fine...you can move on with your day and never give it a second thought, this kind of thing isn't for everyone.
But if it's something you've toyed with the idea of...I hope this post has been helpful, and I hope you manage to cosmic order some amazingness into your life!
