Do you remember my post Hope for Thinning Hair where I talked about my Nioxin experience?
This is the follow up post as promised after using the 3-part Nioxin system 2 as recommended by the good folks at the Bodycraft spa after analyzing my hair type on May 23, 2015.
But first, let me refresh your memory about what Nioxin is all about:

The event consisted of an introduction to the product, hair type analysis, selection of the right Nioxin system and an experience. It was a very enjoyable event and I was certainly looking forward to using the trial pack we received, to take home and try. We were required to blog about our experience with the continued use of the product.
Based on my hair type - pronounced noticeably thinning, fine, natural hair from the one-on-one consultation, I was advised Nioxin No.2 system, a 3-part system with a cleanser shampoo, scalp revitalizer and a leave in conditioner.
I was happy with the result of the "treatment" at the salon and was looking forward to good things in the coming weeks. I confess I hoped that Nioxin would be the answer to my hair woes.
I was a bit peeved about receiving an already open pack at the salon - the lady in charge was busy with someone's hair and just reached across to pick up an open pack - and finding only two of the three dispensers in it, looked around and found the third with its cap open on the table - fixed the cap, put it in the carton and gave it to me.
Anyway, as I said, my experience at the salon was good and I was looking forward to good things.
My experience with Nioxin System 2:
I used the product as advised.
During the consultation, oiling the hair was not recommended. So I avoided doing it during this period, although I usually oil-massage my hair twice a week.
I found it strange that the cleanser shampoo lathered less than the shampoo that was used at the salon, but I didn't worry about that. My hair did feel squeaky clean. The cleanser shampoo cleans the scalp of all the residue and paves the way for healthier looking hair.
The scalp revitalizer/ conditioner which felt ice-cold on my scalp at the salon, did not feel that way when I used it at home. This made me wonder whether the product I received was different from the product used at the salon.
The leave-in conditioner had a froth like watery texture and on application, made my hair look rather dull and dry.
Overall, the the Nioxin No.2 system made my hair frizzier than usual, dryer than usual. I missed the shine from my regular shampoo and home treatment. Also, my hair-fall did not decrease; on the contrary, I saw more strands in my bath and got obviously alarmed.
Here's how I usually look. Yeah, so my hair is a bit damp here and I have the oh-my-god-it-is-a-selfie-zombie look!

The Nioxin System 2 pack says "70% users notice thicker denser-looking hair in 4 weeks", which means it is a great product, just not for me as I must fall in the 30%. Perhaps it is not the right product for my hair type, or maybe I need to use it for a longer time to see better results.
Glad I had the experience though! And just because the results were not as expected for me within the specified time frame, doesn't mean your hair won't look gorgeous with Nioxin, if you have thinning hair.
