My Favourite Beauty + Makeup Products of 2017

Posted on the 10 January 2018 by Alex_bumptobaby @bumptobaby_blog
It's funny.. I was never one for beauty/make up really, well not until the last year or so anyway. It's only in the past year that I've really started to look at what I've been using and have started to buy a bit more wisely. I'm still no expert by any means and I definitely have my own 'unique' way of applying make up but I'm finally a bit happier with the products I am using and so today I thought I'd share some of my favourites that I loved using throughout last year and that I will be purchasing again.
You might have seen me share a video on this the other day over on my youtube channel, but I'm aware that I also have some blog readers who don't watch much youtube so if that's you, I thought I would share this for you. :) I hope you enjoy reading my recommendations, please let me know if you discovered anything new last year that you love and have used over and over again beauty-wise in the comment section of this post as I love to hear from you!

I'm going to start with something that as a Mum I just couldn't be without (well I could - but you know what I mean!).. I absolutely love the Tropical Dry shampoo from Batiste. Just a couple of sprays between hair washes makes my hair look instantly refreshed and washed, so I don't have to worry about washing my long hair everyday or it looking greasy. I also use a Tangle Teezer to brush my hair and it's amazing if your hair gets quite knotty as it just glides through.
I always take my make-up off with Simple's Cleansing facial wipes, I've used them for years and I find them so quick and easy, plus I rarely get spots!
For a highlight I've been using Clinique's chubby highlighting stick and I've been really impressed with it, I either use that or the highlight inside of my Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit which is another favorite of mine.
I use the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit for contouring and I've got on so well with it. I use my rose gold Real Techniques contouring brush to apply it usually and though I'm certainly not an expert when it comes to makeup brushes I think it's really good.
My go-to foundation has actually been the same for a good few years now - I always, always use Estee Lauder Double Wear it's the perfect foundation for my skin and I've been happy with it ever since I started using it. Underneath my foundation I apply Palmer's Cocoa Butter which is a gradual tanner. I only rediscovered this recently after using it a lot as a teen but then changing to another brand, but I have been absolutely loving it and I am so glad I'm using it again. I'm quite pale but this gives me just enough color without turning me orange.
I use NYX Pinched as a blush and I find that it stays on for quite a while and is the perfect color. My favorite mascaras at the moment are by YSL - I love Babydoll and also their Shocking black mascara. Since I've started to use them my eyelashes have looked so much more fuller and I have been mach happier with how my eyes look.

Last year I discovered Benefit's Gimmie Brow and I haven't looked back - it's so easy to use and it instantly gives my eyebrows more definition that looks natural.. I really love it! I also discovered Clinique's Pretty Easy eyeliner and I will 100% be getting this again when it runs out. It's one of the only eyeliners that I've found that doesn't transfer on to the top of my eyes and it stays on pretty much all day.

And lastly I have fallen in love with Charlotte Tilbury's Instant Eye Palette - I absolutely love the colours in it, they are all amazing and I can wear them all and I feel like they are each as beautiful as the other. The eye shadow stays on all day long and always looks so pretty!

Thank you so much for reading.
