My GrandPoppy Worries

Posted on the 30 August 2012 by Dailydoseofmusings @mythoughts4sure
I know that there are other really important things that a Granddad needs to worry about, such as;
Is she eating right?
Am I too lenient... too strict?
Does she get enough exercise/fun time outdoors?
Does she like me better than her father?
Is she happy and content?
Will she outgrow giving sloppy kisses?
Does she get enough sleep?
Is she sick?
Does she like me better than her father?
There are many, many others.
But one Grandpoppy worry has been nagging at me for a very long time.  When I think about it, I get really anxious and uncomfortable.
When I put my Grandbaby's shoes on her feet, I am constantly thinking about the stitches in her socks.
I wonder... are the stitches in her socks bunched up under the fleshy part of her toes causing her to scrunch her toes inside her shoes to make the stitch recede into the space between her toes and the pad of her foot?  Once it is there, is the stitch too thick for the 3rd and 4th toe (roast beef toe and the toe that had none)?  Think about it. Don't you hate when this happens to you?
Is the stitch going straight across the pad/ball of her foot?  Is this what causes her to walk on her toes?
Did the stitch rotate up on the knuckle of  her little toe and causing her severe aggravation where she is 'flicking' her little toe, non-stop inside her shoe?  Will it cause a callous?
Are her socks not pulled on tight enough, causing a bunch of fabric to gather at the front of her shoes?
Are the folds of her socks at her ankles causing too much irritation just below the inside anklebone, where the shoe meets the foot?
Are her socks bunching up between her toes? Especially the big toe and the toe next to it.
All of these worries bother the hell out of me, and I am sure they bother my Grandbaby too.  But she's still just a little princess-in-training and she can't necessarily fix the problem herself.  She doesn't always tell me when her socks are bothering her.
Will she remember that I did all this too her and blame me in her later years for needing therapy????

"... My solution, go bare foot! ..."

Personally, I hate socks. If you are wearing socks in the summer, you are overdressed!
