I am pretty sure everyone has pet peeves, right? Hopefully I am not the only one. I have noticed a recent trend, well recent for me, pop-up in the worlds of twitter and instagram.
#Hashtags
No. 1 - Faking it.I get the point of hashtags and I like use them. I try to use them for the purpose in which they were created, which is to search. You use a hashtag on instagram and twitter to search. Search for #thebachelor or #meanestmomever (seriously please search this on instagram). Anyway, my number 1 pet peeve in the hashtag world is when people use hashtags that don't apply. I am definitely an offender when it comes to getting carried away with hashtags so they start to get more.. let's say creative. What bugs me is when people hashtag things to get more "likes". So their photo is of a baby eating broccoli right? Then they hashtag the photo with things like #drunk #hotgirls #shortskirt #fantasyfactory #etc. I think they choose things that are trending, and are trying to get on the popular page of instagram or something. It drives me crazy, when I am actually searching for things and tons of photos or tweets pop up that are not relevant. Be kind, hashtag appropriately.
No. 2 - My hashtag is better than yours. What is with all this putting each other down non-sense? The most annoying thing to me is when people use these hashtags #mymomisbetterthanyours #mydogisbetterthanyours #myhusbandisbetterthanyours #myfriendsarebetterthan yours... I GET IT everything in your life is better than everything in everyone else's. Take it easy, Mistro! No one likes seeing a really sweet photo of a man with flowers, and then having the photo tarnished with a dumb hashtag! Like: #myboyfriendisbetterthanyours. Here are my suggestions for replacements: #myboyfriendrocks #myboyfriendlovesme #Iloveflowers #smelltheroses. There are a million hashtags that would fit the photo, use one of them that isn't going to anger me.

Do you have your own rule book of hashtag do's and don'ts?
