My Journey into the World of Bathology with The Bath Project
As a busy parent of three children, I can often find it extremely difficult to switch off. In actual fact thanks to the effects of my children's struggles with sleep combined with my own ongoing insomnia, I have found myself laying awake in bed for long enough to greet the morning sun on far more occasions than I care to admit to recently.
Thankfully, I have discovered the remarkable power of baths in promoting mindfulness, relaxation, and positive well-being. I've always enjoyed a soak in the bath but as someone with a very active mind I can find it difficult to truly be present in the moment, but let me tell you, folks, The Bath Project is where the magic truly happens when it comes to creating a mindful experience out of bathing.
The Bath Project has taken the art of bathing to a whole new level. With their mission to create a sanctuary of tranquillity in every home, they pride themselves on crafting exquisite bath products that transport you to a state of blissful relaxation. The company was born out of a friendship between medical Doctor Barbara Kubicka and PA Jo, and their combined expertise and passion for self-care alongside their interest in the historical and cultural significance of bathing is so evident in the products they have created.
Now, let's rewind a bit and take a glimpse into my life as a parent. Like many of you, my days are packed with responsibilities, appointments, and the constant buzz of activity. As a parent of neurodivergent children, the challenges are unique and demand a special kind of energy that's difficult to put into words. It's easy to feel overwhelmed and burnt out, and I can all too often struggle to take care of  myself in the process.
This is where bathology has been a huge help to me lately. Bathology, the art and science of bathing, emphasizes the therapeutic benefits of immersing oneself in warm water. It's not just about getting clean, but rather about creating a holistic experience that promotes self-care, mindfulness, and overall well-being. As I discovered, it can work wonders for both the body and the soul.
Eager to explore this newfound path to relaxation, I spent some time browsing The Bath Project's offerings online and it was love at first sight! Their beautifully designed products and dedication to creating a serene bath experience instantly won me over. The website is like a virtual oasis, showcasing an array of bath salts, oils, and accessories that make bathing an indulgent affair.

Let me tell you, the moment those bath goodies arrived, I felt like a child on Christmas morning! The packaging was exquisite, it felt like a truly indulgent treat and one that would make a wonderful gift, and the scents that wafted from the box were mesmerizing. It was clear that The Bath Project's attention to detail was unmatched.
With a sense of anticipation, I took time over unpacking the contents of my Ritual kit - a face cloth, cup, mixing bowl, whisk and body brush all of the highest quality and Earthy in their aesthetic - before opening my chosen Sleep box.  This contained all of the ingredients needed for a sleep-promoting bath time ritual including salt flakes, essential oil, pigments and chamomile tea.
The Bath Project recommend that you indulge in the mindful experience of preparing your ritual and this was something I really enjoyed doing - using the easy-to-follow recipe card, I felt my mind begin to calm as I mixed ingredients - taking in the colours, scents and sounds as I did so.

Once I poured my potions into the tub and sank into my bath,  I could feel the tension in my muscles start to melt away. The water embraced me like a warm hug, and I closed my eyes, allowing myself to sink into pure relaxation. The cares of the day began to fade, replaced by a sense of calm and serenity.
As a parent of neurodivergent children, finding moments of tranquillity is crucial. It not only helps me to recharge but also enables me to be a better caregiver. I've noticed that when I prioritize self-care and take time to indulge in bathology rituals, I can approach parenting with more patience, empathy, and understanding. It's like pressing a reset button for my mind and soul.
