I recently received one of the handiest packages that has ever graced my doorstep.
The package wasn't full of glittery goodness or yummy treats, no pretty outfits or toys to entertain baby with...so really, it shouldn't have been all that exciting.
But what it contained were the kinds of things you always MEAN to go out and buy, but never seem to get around to.
It contained items which you don't need to use all that often - but when you do, oh boy will you wish you had them!
The package was a money saving car kit....
Here's a breakdown of what was inside.
Digital tire inflator
Did you know that fuel economy can be affected by up to 35% if you have low pressure in your tyres? That is not an amount to be sniffed at! Added to the 25p or so it costs to pump your tyres at a petrol station which I probably do about 4 times a month, and it's safe to say that this item alone has already saved me a few quid per month.
Jump leads
Leaving lights or the radio on when the car is parked can drain the battery meaning your engine won’t start next time you try to set off. If you havent already got a policy, calling out road side assitance form companies such as the AA can cost you an arm and a leg for emergency cover. Carrying jump leads means you can start your car with the help of another car, for free!
This might not be a saving made every month, but it could be a BIG saving when that occasion strikes!
Car dustbusterA simple and cheap way to clean your car and avoiding expensive valeting services.
I have to admit - I did use valeting services, and it cost me around £20 per month. All because I don't have a drive way and so I can't park my car outside my house and plug in the hoover to do my car.
Having this handy little thing that plugs into the car cigarette lighter is ideal and a saving of £20 per month is a good one in my book!Spare bulb set (incl. bulbs and fuses)
Driving with a light out is not only illegal and can result in a £60 fine, but it can also be costly if you have to resort to buying new bulbs from a petrol station. By keeping this kit in your glove compartment you can change your bulbs anywhere, anytime. All in all, this little kit has saved me approximately £23 per month...when you work out that adds up to around £276 that is a pretty big saving!
