They wanted me to choose an outfit from the F & F that reflected my mom and her sense of style.
With summer approaching, I knew straight away what I was going to go for!
I love hearing my mums stories about her youth going out dancing with my Aunty at the local nightclub where she met my Dad, and I always remember her talking about how into fashion she was and the outfits she loved to wear.
She had even kept a few and had plenty of photos of herself, with her 70's Charlies Angels style flicked out hair, heavy eye make up and flares!
I wasn't too keen on going for that look (as much as she rocked it, of course!) but there was one item I firmly remember her telling me was always a staple of her wardrobe....so much so that she had them in every possible color.
The Maxi Dress!!
Yes apparently my Mum and thousands of girls her age in the 70s lived in their maxi dresses, and as they are one 70's inspired style that is alive & well today I knew that's what I wanted to choose.
F & F have an amazing variety of clothing styles on offer, you really can spend hours browsing their beautiful dresses (as I so often do!) - but eventually I pinned down my choice to the Limited Edition Palm Print Camisole Maxi Dress
I love the black & white palm print on this dress, I really think it's the sort of style that would compliment most colourings and builds.
The dress is very flattering, and extremely light and comfortable....I know I'll get tons of wear out of it in the summer!
I often find maxi dresses can be quite low cut on the chest or are a bandeau style - neither of which are great for larger-chested ladies like me - but this dress is cut nice & high on the chest to avoid any "spillage"!
I have found the dress comfortable to wear, easy to accessorize and I feel good in it.
My 70's Fashionista mom would most definitely approve!!! Flower Power!!
Available from F & F for £28.00
