My (Slight Strange) Birthday Wishlist!
Birthday wishlists are not something that I do very often (if at all, come to think of it).
Truth be told I never really put much thought into my own birthday since the kids came along...my time is spent coming up with ideas for their own birthday and Christmas gifts without ever really paying attention to things that I would like...in fact most of the time I tell Jon not to bother getting me anything because there is just nothing I want and I would rather spend our money on family days out or things for the children than have it spent on me.
But this year, for some reason, I've thought of quite a few things that I would really like to get for my birthday - and thinking about it, they seem like pretty strange things!
And so, for that reason, I decided to share it with you after all...maybe to see if  I'm the only person with such strange requests or if other people are at all similar, or maybe just to share the fact that birthday wishlists don't have to just contain things from Next and Ted Baker...but whatever the reason, here it is!, my Slightly Strange birthday wishlist.

1) Past Life Regression
Yep, let's just jump straight in with the wackiest thing on the list!
No spa days for me this birthday thank you (although actually, if anyones offering...that would be lovely!), I would actually much rather sit on a couch in the company of an aging hippy (I imagine...) and go back to take a look at what my previous lives may have been!
This is something I have wanted to try for aaaaaages, and well...I just don't want to put it off any more! I am so intrigued by it all.
I don't know if I believe in past lives or not to be honest, but I'd still be super interested to experience this and find out!
2)  A Blingy Toilet Brush..
Never did I think I'd see the day that a toilet brush would grace my birthday wishlist....but then I walked down the Home Accessories aisle at George @ Asda one evening and saw the prettiest blinged up toilet brush the world has ever seen and I fell a little bit in love.
But I've never been able to justify spending £8 on a toilet brush along with my weekly shop, it always seemed wiser to spend that money on Barneys (aka child-shutter-uppers)...but still, every week I walk past that it and eye it longingly (and everyone around me thinks I'm slightly strange, I'm sure...)
There is also a lot of other blingy bathroom stuff in the same range that I really like too, don't get me wrong I can appreciate Anthropologie and Laura Ashley fine homeware 'til the cows come home but show me a blinged up plastic "Bath" sign and I'm all over it!
Old habits die hard...I love a bit of bling!
3) MAC Make Up Lessons
I noticed while visiting my local MAC store recently that they offer make up lessons, and oh my goodness I would just love that!
I know that they're probably intended more for teenagers and 20-somethings who want to learn how to do glamourous eye makeup for nights out etc rather than a 30-something who mostly wears a basic Mum-Make Up face...
But I would just LOVE to be taught how to contour and properly do a smoky eye by actual professionals, rather than trying and failing to imitate a YouTube video (Because dammit they keep showing where to put the contour, but never how to blend it?! I don't look contoured at all when I try it, I look like I'm in camouflage!)
4)A Photography Course
Perhaps not such a strange one at all, certainly not amongst the bloggers at least - I have had a "Big girl camera" for almost 2 years now and although I do shoot in Manual mode, I feel that its very hit and miss.
And any decent pictures I do get are luck rather than skill.
I really would love to learn how to properly use my camera, and I have heard that you can buy all the online courses and books you want about photography but that nothing will ever quite get it all into your head as much as a proper traditional photography course will - and so I desperately want to do one!
5) A Kate Spade Planner
Again, not a strange one....in fact a normal one!
My (Slight Strange) Birthday Wishlist!
I have completely fallen in love with this particular planner and if I don't get it, I will definitely throw a strop that my 3 year old would be proud of...I have dropped ALL OF THE HINTS for this one!!
6) Project Life

My (Slight Strange) Birthday Wishlist!
I have wanted to do Project Life since it first became cool about 2 years ago (it's probably not even cool anymore!) and I just never got around to it, but I haven't forgotten it and I still really want to give it a go.
I used to love scrapbooking as a hobby, but I'm not really creative enough for it...this looks easier for the creatively challenged people like me, as though it will turn out pretty regardless of how much I try to muck it up...which is good!
7) DNA Ancestry Tracing
I saw this a while back on a Facebook viral video, a marketing campaign for something or other, but the idea stuck with me.
I actually had no idea that you could pay to trace your ancestry via DNA testing - apparently it can pinpoint where in the world your bloodline originates from and I would find that just absolutely fascinating.
I would love to trace my family tree and I fully intend to do so one day, when I have more free time, but this seems like a good bit of information to have to begin with...I would just love to know where my ancestors originated!
***
So...there have them....are they that strange?! Am I really peculiar?! Or would you be interested in any of these things yourself?!
I'd love to hear from you and do share if there's any odd things you'd be tempted to put on your own birthday wishlists!
