Writing, it all begins in school. I still look fondly on 3rd grade when I was learning how to write cursive. I thought writing in cursive was such a beautiful written word, and learning to make those letters flow so naturally and beautifully is what I craved to learn, but, for a 3rd grader, it was also really really hard.
There were just some letters I struggled with more than others. But soon, my love of the cursive word, and of writing came to be.
At a young age I learned to keep a diary. I still have a few of those diaries and I laugh every time I read them now a days. Yes, back then, even in 3rd grade, I was what you would call “boy crazy.” It was the life of playing, barbies, and of course those boys that wouldn’t stop picking on you, but it was my life.
In one way, I let out all of my stress through long bike rides after school, and then I’d come home, and let my creative juices flow. At a young age I loved writing short stories and creating these characters in my head as to the perfect story. Often, my stories related to school, groups of people, and traveling. I remember one story came to 86 pages, and it was a long, developed story about a school group going on a trip together, and of course, the conflict that happens on such a trip.
To this day, I hold on to it fondly, and hold on to that love of writing. When I started this blog almost 3 years ago, I started with the idea of writing. It was my motivation to get a job in the writing field because I had found my love of writing again. I soon learned though, that writing wasn’t just about throwing up a post and being done with it, but instead, there was a gift in how your words flowed.
But not only that, for a blogger, how important those photos fit into the post. But, now a days, I’m looking at writing differently. I’m really beginning to see the true beauty in just writing, and how the flow of the words, itself, help tell a story. It is in these words that we paint a picture of what’s about to unfold.
But even more importantly, it is through these words, and voice, that people truly relate. Some people have the perfect blend of sarcasm and funny. Others write to the heart, and then there are those, when they write, can take the readers on the journey with them.
I like to think I’m of the latter, in that every time I write, it’s not just my experience I’m sharing, but that you, my readers, are right there experiencing it with me.
And I will continue to fall more and more in love with the written word. A different post from yours truly.
