My Top 2015 Advent Calendar Choices

Posted on the 21 November 2015 by Sparklesandstretchmarks @raine_fairy

This one was my favorite from last year and I'm soooooo excited to have it again this year!
The Yankee Candle Carousel advent calendar is just beautiful - last year I had the house version which was just gorgeous and is available again this year but I like the idea of something different and this one just looks so very festive! - it has 20 tea light candles in a variety of festive fragrances, and 4 votive candles too!
Available HERE priced at

My second pick of the adult favourites is the YouBeauty advent calendar.
It contains 24 mini beauty treats from some of the top brands on the market, the products inside have a retail value of over £300 which is just AMAZING!!
I am SO excited to start opening these, you can from the size of the doors alone that these are not just silly little teeny weeny samples - a lot of them look like pretty decent sizes!
Last year I bought the Benefit advent calendar and after being so excited to open it, I ended up being massively disappointed with it as so many of the days were just fill of absolute rubbish like hairbands and paper clips, and the samples themselves were often teeny weeny sizes only good for half a use - I vowed I'd never buy a Benefit calendar again as I didn't think they were good value for money at all, but I'm holding out much more hope for this one!
The YouBeauty Advent Calendar is available HERE priced at £59.99
I am also giving one away HERE if you want to go and enter for a chance to win your own!
Now time for the best of the childrens calendars this year, and there are SO many different kinds on the market these days that it's been hard to narrow it down to just two!
But these ones clinched it!
First up is the Playmobil 1,2,3 Animals In The Forest calendar.
This is specially designed with toddlers in mind which is great to see as many of the advent calendars on offer contain tiny pieces or toys just a little over the heads of toddlers, but this is perfect!
Each day contains something really fun for the children - there doesn't seem to be any disappointing filler, as I found with some I looked at (The Vtech Toot Toot calendar for examples had days were just a little cone or road sign were behind the doors, which is fine for older children who understand the concept of building up a scene over the 24 days but I know that my child wouldn't and would just be disappointed!) - instead the Playmobil calendar has something like a little woodland animal, an elf or a figure each day - I LOVE that the first day's surprise is a cute little elf and the Christmas Eve surprise is Santa himself! SO sweet!
The Playmobil 123 calendar is priced at and is available HERE
Playmobil also have some other advent calendars on offer this year, including Fire Rescue operation, a Christmas room scene, and for older children there's Santa's workshop, Unicorn Fairyland and Dragons treasure battle - so something to suit every taste! Well done Playmobil!

And finally, we have the wonderful Wow Toys Wonderland Advent Calendar.
I'm a huge fan of Wow Toys, the quality is so high, they're such amazing value for money and my son always loves anything we buy him from the range.
The Wonderland calendar is suitable for children aged 1-5 years old, everything included is quite chunky so perfect for little hands and everything is ever so sweet! My favorite being the little reindeer!
I love the Wow Toys promise that there are no small parts, no toxic paints and no pvc too!
The calendar encourages children to learn about numbers and counting, and the pieces collectively build up a little Christmas play scene by the time the last door is opened on Christmas Eve.
The Wow Toys Wonderland Advent Calendar is priced at £25.00 and is available from the JoJo Maman Bebe Christmas Range here
What advent calendars will you be opening this year? As always, I'd love to hear from you!
