My War with the Outside

As promised I should be back to my normal blogging schedule for awhile.   Even with school being over for the summer things have managed to stay busy.  My mom and I are working on a bridal shower for my cousin which is taking up a lot of time (although it also involves cupcakes) and I’ve got meetings with the schools I’ll be teaching at next semester along with a job interview sometime this week.  And of course I’m still working on the books coming out in just a few weeks.  I can’t complain though, I love staying busy.  Much rather have too much to do than nothing to do.

I’ve also been working on some gardening outside, unfortunately my poison ivy allergy is not my friend yet again this summer.  I keep telling myself I’ll eventually build up an immunity but that never seems to work.  So, after less than an hour outside I’ve broken out in blisters yet again.  What a pain.  At least I’ve got most of the weeds out now so I can just worry about planting flowers and enjoying things.  Until it all grows back.  But we’ll worry about that when we get there.

In happier news I got a new mattress which is pretty fabulous.  It’s memory foam so I spend a lot of time throwing heavy things on it and then watching it reform.  Not a productive use of my time but it’s fun to watch.  Not to mention comfortable.

This is my room.  Isn’t it pretty?  And I love all the natural light it gets.  I missed that at school.  I finally feel like I live somewhere permanently again which is a nice feeling.   I hate having to pack and unpack, hopefully this is the last time I’ll have to do that for at least a year.

I know there wasn’t a lot of crafty or book-ish type things this post but I promise I have some awesome cross-stitch project updates for you Wednesday and I’m ready diligently as usual.  Hope you all are having a great day and go do something crafty!  Oh, and I almost forgot I’ll be making a cross-stitch gift for my cousin’s wedding (if I don’t end up losing even more time) so I’ll be sure to post updates of that soon.
