TODDLER TALK – Find out what your toddler is telling you today.
Do you wonder what your toddler is thinking? I have on many occasions, especially when they give me such quizzical looks. The reason for the weird looks from the toddler might have something to do with mummy being silly, or trying to understand what the child is thinking or doing. I know hard when some don’t express themselves well or cannot talk yet. So what do you do?
I was looking at facial expression? I tried to see what they are trying to get – toys, food and books? What are they reaching for? What do they need help with? It is a hard to know exactly what your child is asking for, and sometimes I have gotten it very wrong! A cry might mean that they are tired? Or just hungry, and of course I learnt the hard way, by trial and error.

I love this video and it brings back so many memories of doing the same things with the twins. I just adore the sequence with the baby in the pram telling mum that she needs to use two hands! The sequence with dad and the bath duck is fabulous, and the child seems amazed that dad finally understood it was a duck. Genius. Maybe the toddler is smarter than we give them credit for.
