Never Never Land

I always feel in “italics” and think in “capitals!”. Which means, I live life to the fullest. I have resolved that, whatever eternity has up its sleeve, I will enjoy life here and now. With happiness so threatened, why not be happy now?

Peter Pan Syndrome is the supposed psychological phenomenon of immaturity among some men and women, who, like the fictional character, remain childish and fail to assume appropriate adult social roles and responsibilities.

I’ve read from a fellow blogger that her neighbor had teased here of having this kind of syndrome. I can relate very well.

I would never feel insulted when people inform me that I have something like a Peter Pan syndrome. People can call me all the awful names they like. I would care less and just let them dwell in an abyss of enigma. Just like my fellow blogger, Peter Pan syndrome seems to be the sort of syndrome a man like me should possess.

So what if I live in a Never Never Land? I do not want to belong in a world where people lose their inner child, where people no longer know the real meaning of happiness, and where people have become “pirates”.

These people are “clearly just jealous of my inability to grasp reality and be bogged down by mundane human details that in truth are not reality, but mere human illusions. So if others think I am stuck in a non-reality, but to me, they are sentenced and cemented into the horror of the 9-5 human death. Either way, I had Tinker Bell and a piece of paper, and all they have was……well something very different, something I didn’t want, no matter how safe or sane.”

I believe that we should exercise free will and creative independent thought not for the satisfactions it will bring us, but for the good it will do others — the rest of the 6.8 billion and those who will follow it.

And then you too will discover the great and curious truth of the human experience. That is – that selflessness is the best thing you can do for yourself.

You’ll realize that, just like Peter Pan, you also have your Wendy, John and Micheal. You’ve invited them to your world and taught them how to feel happiness again by letting them think happy thoughts. Many have forgotten to do that and have just been too selfish to only think about their own personal happiness. We think mostly only of ourselves. We think we should be the only one to fly through the night and see the world from way up there in the clouds.

The sweetest joys of life, then, come only with the recognition that you’re not the only one special, because everyone is. We all should feel special.

No matter how hard we try, we can never please everyone. There will always be insecure people who will try to undermine us. What we can do is to let their spite and bitterness wash over us! These feelings are corrosive, they will eat them from the inside. As we soar to great heights buoyed by our own momentum, jealous people will wilt….and eventually “die” emotionally.

Let us stay happy and positive….unaffected by negativity around us.

I am a “practicing optimist” and would always be until eternity.
