This weekend our church held another baby shower for two of our beautiful expecting moms. While I’ve made a few baby shower gifts in the past, I thought that a different kind of present would be better for these moms.
Since the two of them are both second time moms, I figured they had plenty of stuff for the new babies. So why not make a gift for them? We often get so caught up in the cute baby clothes and toys that we forget that the moms can use some pampering too. Thus, the New Mom Pampering Kit was devised.
I bought a canvas basket from Target and wrapped the basket in ribbon with a homemade cardstock label.
Inside of the basket I put a bunch of pampering items. From left to right, there was body cream, bath salts, foot scrub, dark chocolate (which turned out to be both moms’ favorite), mud hair mask, gel eye mask, scented candle, and a pumice stone.
This ended up being a really simple project because I gathered all the supplies in one place (thank you tar-jee).
But the best part was seeing the smile across the moms’ faces when they realized they could have one last pampering session before the new babies arrived.
Because as much as baby showers are about celebrating new life, they are also about celebrating the moms that make that new life possible.
Congrats to both families! I can’t wait to meet the new baby girl and new baby boy!
