I was sent vouchers for LowLow Snack Packs so that I could try them for free as part of a BzzCampaign that I have been taking part in for BzzAgent. They are available in 3 flavours: Caramelised Onion Chutney, Red Pepper and Onion Chutney and Sweet Tomato Relish. I got 1 of the Red Pepper and Onion Chutney and one of the Caramelised Onion Chutney packs to try. The packs are available in Tesco for £1 each.
Snack Packs are designed to be an easy snack to have on the go, with 5 slices of 1/3 less fat mature cheddar cheese, multigrain toasts and a chutney or relish.

Each pack comes with all the elements in it's own little section and there is even a little spork to help you assemble your snack, although it was quite well hidden underneath the toasts. The Red Pepper and Onion version contains 156 calories and the onion version contains 187.

The little toasts were pretty good, they had a really nice crunch to them and the pack had kept them fresh. The cheese on it's own was pretty average to be honest, I like really strong cheddar and I just find that the low fat stuff doesn't have enough flavor to it and the texture is a little bit on the rubbery side. I really enjoyed the onion chutney however, it had quite a strong flavor to it and a lovely sweetness. I found the red pepper and onion flavor a little bland, I would have liked a bit of heat to spice it up a little.
Verdict
I am awarding LowLow Snack Packs 3 stars. I really like the idea of a cheesy snack on the go and it was quite filling despite being low in calories. The low fat cheese is not the worst I have tasted and with the onion chutney and the toasts it was actually not too bad. One other piece of feedback is that the spork wasn't immediately obvious. I was assembling my snacks at home so I took all the toasts and placed them on a plate, so I saw it at the bottom of the pack but if you were eating this in the car I think that you would assemble each piece 1 at a time so you might not see it and end up making a mess trying to add the chutney!
