One of the first things my photography professor instructed newbie photographers (including me!) was to avoid photographing cliches.
"No flowers. No Sunsets," she told us on our first day of class. This rule was, according to her, to push us creatively.
To some degree, I get her point...but on my birthday I fell into a cliche when I walked by a beautiful garden filled with poppies, which happen to be one of my favorite flowers.
Aren't they beautiful?
