Well it's been a while, but today I am FINALLY getting around to sharing some snaps of Noah's bedroom!
We actually finished the bedroom before he arrived, but needed to just add some blinds and hang the pictures - with some free time at last this week we've finally been able to do that!
Noah has been sleeping in his room for the past 2 weeks or so, and has settled really well in there - he goes to bed at 7pm every night now and sleeps through until around 8 am which has been lovely (and such a welcome change from his big brother who, at 30 months, is still not the worlds easiest sleeper!!!)
Noah's room is our box room and is absolutely tiny so we had to just make the most of the space we have...it's the perfect size for a babies room but will be a bit of a squeeze for many toys etc when he's older, so the plan is to move him in with Tyne once he's big enough for a toddler bed which should time nicely with moving baby number 3 into this room - it's worked out well as the room colours we've chosen are unisex so no changes will really need to be made whether the new baby is a boy or a girl!
3 of Noah's walls have been kept plain cream, but we wanted a bit of a feature wall so we put up some nice chunky striped wallpaper in cream and oatmeal which is subtle but effective - we also added a nice wall sticker with the words "No Joys on Eath bring greater pleasure than a little boy to love and treasure"...So very true!
I absolutely Noah's wheeled wicker crib, which was a gift from my parents for his birth - it is absolutely stunning! What I really love about it is, as well as being just absolutely beautiful and a real focal point in his bedroom, it's also SO deep and SO spacious so that even now at 6 months old there is absolutely heaps of space left inside it! A friend of my mum's has the same crib for her grandson and he's still in it at a year old, so I'm hoping not to have to move Noah out of it any time soon but we do have a cot ready for whenever he needs to transition - I'd be sad to see it go but luckily it's unisex so new baby will absolutely be using it!
We've also added the Loved So Much cot mobile from Mothercare, as the colours matched it and the rest of the bedroom perfectly.
Noah has a selection of little cuddlies inside the crib, as well as his trusty Cloud B Sleep Sheep - the very same one that Tyne has as they both just love it! This personalised cushion was a gift and is just beautiful, though it doesn't stay inside the crib with him when he sleeps.
We really struggled to find any curtains that matched the theme we wanted for his bedroom, so when we were offered the chance to try out some Blinds from Web Blinds we spotted this beautiful polka dot blind in Dotty Beige and jumped at the chance!
What I loved about Web Blinds was that you're able to personalise every single aspect of the blinds you choose - from the finish along the bottom, to the pull cord, every single thing can be personalised so that you end up with truly bespoke blinds exactly as you want them.
There are easy to follow videos on the website showing you exactly how to measure the window for each style of blind so that no mistakes can be made, and there are very easy to follow instructions to follow for fitting them too!
Jon had the blinds up in a matter of minutes, and said it was such an easy job thanks to the clear concise instructions.
They come with a safety feature for the pull cords as standard which is great to see, and I really think that they finish off the window space beautifully.
The blinds are available from www.web-blinds.com
I picked up some papier mache large letters from Hobbycraft during the last weeks of my pregnancy with Noah, as I really wanted to make something nice for his bedroom to give it a personal touch.
When I was having Tyne I hand painted and decorated some wooden letters to spell out his name for his bedroom wall, but I wanted to try something different this time - I decorated the letters with scrapbook paper and some scrapbook accessories and I`m really pleased with how they turned out! They were so simple to do and I am NOT a very crafty person at all.
We needed a nice toybox for Noah's room to keep all of his cuddlies and bits and pieces together, and this beautiful Bear Hug box from Hello Home was absolutely perfect!
It is so cute and just the perfect design for a nursery. I love that you can also get matching accessories including a toddler bed in this range so we could theme the whole room as Noah gets older if we wanted to!
The toy box is lovely and spacious, and such high quality too - a real bargain and a definite favorite part of his bedroom for me!
We also needed some drawer storage for things like vests, sleepsuits, socks etc and I wanted something in natural coloured wicker to keep in with the theme of the room.
This beautiful wicker drawer unit from Wayfair.com was absolutely perfect, and looks just stunning in the corner. The drawers don't stick as so many wicker styles tend to do, and they are lovely and roomy - I loved that they came ready lined too!
I wanted to do something a bit different with the ceiling for Noah's bedroom, as the space is so small there wasn't a lot of room for creative decorative touches but I spotted ceiling draping for nurseries on a friend's facebook photos and really wanted to re-create a similar look myself as I thought it looked so pretty!
The look I originally saw had the entire ceiling covered in chiffon material, but due to the shape of Noah's ceiling we couldn't find a way to achieve this - instead we opted to make this bow design on the ceiling using chiffon hanging instead, I really love how unusual it is - it's very hard to photograph but it looks so effective in reality!
And of course no child's bedroom is complete without a bit of wall art!
I absolutely love these "Never forget somebody loves you" and "Guess how much I love you" framed pictures which were both gifts from family members for Noah's birth/Christening, and the personalised Day You Were Born print matches one that Tyne has - I love all of the details it holds such as the song that was number 1 when he was born, the price of a stamp that day etc!
So there we have it, our baby boy's finished nursery!!
