Now I Don’t Wanna Be a Complainer…

So I am not going to talk about the shitty, nasty, stupid February weather that we are having in July.

Or that we have had a total of ONE day, yes ONE day of hot weather, where it actually FELT like it might be summer.

I am not exaggerating in any way…

ask anyone who lives here.

WE. ARE. DONE.

If I had firewood, I would have a fire going right now. It is July 15…

I have a blanket on and flannel pajamas.

So lets focus on the good things about the rain.

This is probably going to be a short post, just so you know…

It is fucking freezing cold outside…so the peas are growing…

…like kicking ass growing, so is my lettuce, spinach and arugula.

My Clematis is growing like mad too, even though it looks like it’s drowning in this picture :)

My Rhubarb, which I just moved out to beside the pond about a month ago, is growing like wildfire…so tonight, while it was raining sideways, like it has been all day…I made a pie.

And in anticipation of said pie, after work, I bought ice cream. Neopolatin ice cream.

It won’t help my diet, at all. But the weather is shit, did I mention that? So it’s not like I get to wear anything sexy to show off my muffin top anyways right?

Right.

But before we get to eat said pie, we had to have dinner. I made homemade pizza. It was delicious :) I am not giving the recipe for that away because it is going to be Mondays post, so you will just have to be patient.

But this is what the pie started out as…

Ok, so I bought the crust…it wasn’t totally homemade, stop judging me damn it. I worked all day. I was too tired to make it from scratch. Though just for the record I kick ass making pie crust.

AND…

I had to roll the top crust out to make it work, that should really count. In fact it just does. My pie. My rules.

Are you drooling yet? I have lots, if you come over in the next let’s say half an hour, before my oldest gets his hands on it, you might just get to have a piece. With ice cream.

It’s still warm.

See there are good things about the weather we have been having.

Now I need something to do tomorrow, to keep myself convinced.

I am pretty sure there won’t be any pie left by then…

Happy Saturday friends xoxo
