Number Fifteen (part Two of Three).

Posted on the 22 February 2011 by Agadd @ashleegadd

On Sunday we spent the day with Brett’s sweet grandparents and finished part two of number fifteen on our pre-baby bucket list. We started off by baking some of grandma’s famous apple strudel, which is a must-have for every Gadd family gathering. In the 6.5 years I’ve been with Brett, I have probably enjoyed that strudel close to thirty times at Thanksgivings, Christmases, birthday parties, etc. You name the holiday, there was strudel. It’s SO good and I was more than happy to learn how to make it. Although now that I know how, I understand why it’s a dessert saved for special occasions—it’s no small feat!

{ aprons are a must when baking strudel }

{ grandpa is more of a strudel spectator }

{ apples, cinnamon, sugar }

{ the tuck and roll method }

{ how many times do you think she’s done this? total. pro. }

{ perfectly wrapped }

We also spent a good portion of the afternoon watching home movies, listening to stories, and learning all about the good ole days, like when Bob proposed to Anne over the phone. I like to think of him as an efficient romantic…

We’re visiting my other grandparents this weekend for part three of three, stay tuned!
