Of Tags and Things.

Posted on the 07 January 2012 by Shayes @shayes08
I love posts like this. My wonderful blogging friend Kathy from That's What She Said tagged me in this link up/tag back/meme/whatever you want to call it. And no adding 11 faces that I make was not really necessary, but I just thought it would be fun. And so I did it. Hooray. Anyway...onto the link up/tag back/meme/whatever you want to call it.
Rules:
  1. You must post these rules.
  2. Each person must post 11 things about themselves on their blog.
  3. Answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post, and create 11 new questions for the people you tag to answer.
  4. You have to choose 11 people to tag and link them on the post.
  5. Go to their page and tell them you have linked him or her.
  6. No tag backs.
  7. No stuff in the tagging section about 'you are tagged if you are reading this.' You legitimately have to tag 11 people.
11 Things About Me:
  1.  I have a severe addiction to chapstick. Multiple people have tried to break me of it. All have failed.
  2. I was unable to wear high heels for nearly five years because of a bunion on my left foot and a surgery that I had because of said bunion.
  3. When I was little, I wanted to grow up and be my uncle, who's a professional piano and choral arranger/composer. I didn't want to be like him. I wanted to be him. (Apparently I didn't realize that it's not really possible to be someone else.)
  4. My left ring finger is a size 4.
  5. I am certified by the Society of American Fight Directors in unarmed, knife and single sword fighting.
  6. I had my second foot surgery at age 5 and was in a hip high cast for six weeks.
  7. I didn't live in the continental US until I was five.
  8. I've been to 12 countries and 3 out of the 6 inhabited continents.
  9. My apartment key for my college apartment had Disney princesses on it.
  10. I only color with colored pencils because crayons aren't precise enough.
  11. For years my dream car was a metallic purple VW bug.
11 Questions From Kathy:
  1. If you could have one superpower what would it be? Oh, this is hard. I was actually just talking with Office Boy about this a few weeks ago. Although I think it would be kind of neat to be able to read minds or something like that, I think I'd probably go with invisibility. Or is becoming an anamorph an option? I know she's a jerk in the books, but I'd totally pull a Rita Skeeter and literally be a fly on the wall.
  2. What are your inspirations? My Savior, my family, my friends. I'm also inspired by things I see in every day life be it a sunset, a little child laughing or a kitten stretching in the sun.
  3. What are you obsessions? They fluctuate depending on the time in my life but currently it's How I Met Your Mother, goldfish snack crackers, sleep, the down comforter on my bed, sweatpants, and blogging.
  4. What's your biggest guilty pleasure? I can't believe I'm admitting this on the internet...but my guilty pleasure is ABC Family's show Make It Or Break It. It's so cheesy and ridiculous, I know, but I love it. I've also been known to indulge in a pint of Ben & Jerry's New York Super Fudge Chunk on occasion.
  5. Where would you want someone to take you for a perfect date? I don't know if there's a specific place, but I would want it to be somewhere that combined fun activities with a relaxing environment and the opportunity for good conversation. Not too dressy, but just casual and fun and low-key. A lot of people think I'm all glamorous and high maintenance but I'd take an afternoon out mini-golfing in a sundress over a night to the opera in a ballgown any day.
  6. What is your favorite memory? Oy. This is hard. Umm...I don't think I can honestly just choose one. There are many memories that I love but I wouldn't say there's any one more than another. One of my favorites was during Thanksgiving break my sophomore year in college. My friend Tori and I were driving back and got stuck in massive amounts of traffic. We ended up blasting 90s boy band music the whole time and talking about everything under the sun and having such a fantastic time. I could go on to list 100 other memories that I cherish just as much as that one, but we'd be here for a while. So that's one of my favorites, but I think it would take years to narrow down my absolute favorite memory.
  7. What is the nicest thing anyone has ever said to you? I've got two, because I couldn't decide. The first occured last year, when I graduated from college. I was hugging a friend of mine goodbye, as it was the last time I would see him until I came to visit CNU again the next fall. I had known this particular friend basically since my first day at CNU. He hugged me then looked at me and said, "Sarah, I just want to thank you for always remaining strong in your faith. Through all the years I've known you, you've never wavered in your faith and that has been such an incredible encouragement to me over these last three years. Thank you." Hearing those words -- that living for Christ has not been in vain -- touched me in a way words can never describe. The second occured yesterday. I was talking to Office Boy and he told me that he couldn't understand why anyone would ever treat me badly because I'm one of the kindest, sweetest people he's ever known. In light of some of the events of the recents months, that meant so much.
  8. If you could give your younger self one piece of advice, what would it be? Be careful who you trust. And when someone tells you from personal experience that a person is bad news, believe them.
  9. What character (books, tv, movies, etc.) do you think is most like you and why? Anne Shirley from L.M. Montgomery's Anne of Green Gables series. She's spunky and vibrant. She has a vivid imagination and gets lost in the world of books. She's honest and down-to-earth and isn't afraid to speak her mind. She loves until her heart breaks and knows the value of true friendship. She's been one of my favorite literary characters for years and I've always felt that if she was real, we would've been bosom friends and kindred spirits.
  10. If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would buy? Hmm...probably a Steinway baby grand piano. Where would I put it? Not a clue. But that is one thing that I have always wanted and I swear I will have one before I die.
  11. What is one compliment you would give yourself? You are one of the most loyal and loving people in the world. People often use that against you and push you until you snap, but don't ever lose that.
