For all I’m a tech junkie, in a lot of ways, I’m also very old school {might have to do with the fact that I teach at a 211 year old university}. Even though you can’t find me without my iEverything, while I handle social media, websites, designs, and simulations all on several computers, you also can’t find me without these {except for right now, because I’m shopping for a new one for 2013!}:

For some things – like my desk calendar and trusty datebook – I just like old fashioned paper. I like being able to jot down appointments, notes, to-do lists, and physically check stuff off. I like being able to write down big events in nice huge bold letters and cross off the days leading up to them. I like having a tangible reminder that there’s a lot of time in a year and as much as my job and my life try to fill up the space, there are always little spaces here and there I can block off just for me. Maybe it’s silly, but it’s very me.
