Only in Cebu: Abuhan's Beef Pochero

A friend of mine once told me about her recent trip to Cebu. She recommended Abuhan, a restaurant famous for serving beef pochero. So, when I finally had the chance to go on a trip to Cebu, I included a nice dinner in Abuhan Dos as part of our itinerary.
I did some research and found out that the pochero they serve in Cebu is different from the pochero being served in Manila. The pochero I know and have tasted in Manila has a tomato-based soup. The one in Cebu has a clear soup and is comparable to what we, in Manila, know as beef bulalo.

I expected a lot after reading various reviews about this famous dish so upon arriving at Abuhan Dos, we ordered it right away. It took about 10-15 minutes before the dish got served. The meat was almost falling off the bones and the bone marrow can send anyone to cholesterol heaven right away. The vegetables were still crispy. The soup tasted just fine but I think it is quite ordinary though.

One serving of medium beef pochero is enough for two to four persons.
