Our Christmas Memories 2021!

Hello 2022! And a happy new year to all! It's been so nice to take some time off over the christmas period and just completely relax and enjoy the quality family-time. I have to say, that I think this Christmas was possibly one of my favourites. Perhaps that's because it's the first one following last years lockdown over Christmas and so it feels extra special to be able to celebrate it more freely, or perhaps it's because I really just did totally relax as much as possible over this Christmas. But whatever it was, it felt so nice to hibernate from the outside world and enjoy all of the festivities!

We built LEGO, played board games, played switch games, ate good food, spent some really lovely time with family (though just Adam's side of the family, as my side unfortunately were isolating over Christmas with covid, but we did manage to video call each other which was still nice). It's been about the simple things and I've loved that! The boys are 8 and 6 at the moment and are still hugely into the excitement of Christmas, which I love as it just adds to our excitement as their parents. There's something absolutely magical about Christmas with kids. As the Queen said this year in her Christmas day speech 'Christmas can speak to the child within us all' and I think that that's even more truer when you have your own children. We spent Christmas Eve at home as well as Christmas morning and then at lunchtime we headed to my in-laws where we had dinner as a big family alongside my Husbands parents, brother, sister cousin, her fiancee and also his Aunties and Uncles. We stayed the night there and came home on Boxing day after lunch and after video calling my side of the family, we just chilled and played with the boys. The day after Boxing Day we went to see my two sisters and their children on my biological Dad's side of the family and it was so nice to see them and get to meet my brand new niece too!We also celebrated New years Eve this year too, which is something we don't usually do, usually it's just us at home, watching the fireworks on the TV from bed, but this year we celebrated with my in-laws and some more of the family and it was really nice to celebrate the occasion and mark it properly! I feel like I've started 2022 feeling really relaxed, content and happy and what more could I really ask for?I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas period too!
