SCRIPTED WHIM Be unique. At the very least,
be interesting, especially

reality wrapped in fantasy
dressed in charisma. This

root of reality from which a
fascinating character can grow.

Malleable.
SCRIPTED WHIM Use Google to search for images
of any one of the keywords
above. Select the first image
result. What is the first smell
this image brings to your mind?
Give yourself ten to fifteen
minutes to write a one-page
monologue for a character who
either absolutely loves that
smell or abhors it. When you
are finished, read the monologue
aloud. Give the character a
voice, and at least a name,
hometown, job, community, and
goal. Repeat this exercise as
many times as you'd like and
populate your story with
fascinating characters.
