Oddly it did what it said on the tin.
Panther in action
We are not a makeover kind of family. In fact, make under would be nearer the mark. I don’t mind putting up a shelf or mending something simple, but, mostly, I can’t be doing with DIY. If funds allowed I’d get someone else to do it every time.
However, funds only allow that the someone else I can get is the Panther of News. Not, of course, that I am anything but delighted by this ( I have to say that as sometimes he reads my blog).
The PoN will pounce on a news story in an instant yet a domestic chore can remain safely un-pounced-upon for quite some time.
But recently a date was set and the Panther was poised, brush in hand.
As luck would have it we were offered a voucher for some paint at ASDA to publicise their new range. ASDA, for paint?! I hear you yell.
Yes, paint. We have long become accustomed to tucking a new pair of PJs or a rubber doormat in among our groceries on a trip to ASDA, but now they stock DIY stuff.
Apparently they are surfing the trend that Brits do their DIY jobs on a little and often basis. So it makes perfect sense to be able to pick up a pot of emulsion with the sausages and bog roll.
That must be other Brits, not us. We do little and seldom. However, if the paint is nagging us from beyond the fruit and veg, it might change.
ASDA’s in store range isn’t huge – but the online selection is enormous. And you can order stuff online to collect when you go to the shop, including tester pots at £1.
As we didn’t need to test white emulsion, our paint of choice, we dived straight in. At a reasonable £9 for a 2.5 liter tub – now reduced to £5, we could afford to go crazy!
How was the paint? “Er, fine,” said the Panther, clearly a conosour.
And that’s are DIY done for this year, thanks to ASDA! Disclosure: Asda sent us a voucher to try out their paint range.
