Today I shall do my very first review of a cosmetic product. Cosmetics are care substances used to enhance the appearance of the human body or in this case, the face. For starters, I’m not those kind of girl that splashes on make-up before leaving the house. LOL. But I do like trying new stuff (>‿◠)✌
Game on! So, have you heard of Palgantong before? No? Haha! Me too until like couple of days ago. Somehow, there isn’t much articles or reviews on Palgantong’s products on the cyber world. This made me more pumped up to do this review. Being someone who is clueless to product reviews, I browsed review’s from other blog’s before deciding to post this. It’s my first attempt so laugh on. Haha.
So in my first Best Buy World Malaysia purchase (read my shopping experience here), one of the item that I bought was the Palgantong Base of Base – Satin Yellow. This Base of Base thing is sort of like a BB cream with SPF 25 PA ++.
As you can see in the picture above,the Palgantong Base of Base comes in 3 different variants – Satin Pink, Satin Yellow and Pearl White.
Tadaa! As you can see, the product I received from Best Buy World Malaysia has the brand sticker on. This product claims that it helps in covering pores and fine lines bla bla bla (read from the picture lah).
Comes in a cute little conventional tube. LOL.
To be honest, I don’t really know the exact story of Palgantong. What does dodo Japan mean? Maybe, just maybe Palgantong products are formulated in Japan but made in Korea? Haha! I don’t know lah. Just guess only. Oh and if I’m not mistaken, Palgantong actually specialises in theatrical make up (see their brand logo!) and was initially introduced to make-up artists who work for start of broadcast stations such as KBS and SBS.
This is the mouth of the tube. Haha. Just like any other BB creams that come in tubes. ツ
Squeeze a tiny amount on my hand. It’s got a pretty thick consistency. So don’t over-squeeze! Haha! And also it’s got a hint of fragrance. You can’t really smell it unless you place your nostrils on your skin and take a deep breath.
Smudge it out a bit. It’s slightly sticky but not to the extend where you’d feel uncomfortable, probably good for your make-up application. Hehe. From the 2 pictures above, you’d probably think – Oh no! It does not match your skin tone! Haha! I though so too.
But after blending it out, it’s similar to my skin tone. Haha! The without application side like super odd compared to the rest of my skin tone. Well, it claims to help cover fine lines but the lines on my hand are still visible. My hand probably has coarse lines. LOL.
I like this picture cause my fingers look really long. And I also realized that my hand has a lot of moles. Haha! The with application side of my hand also looks smoother.
Okay. Now comes the before and after application pictures of my face. ツ
Difference? One face bigger than the other. Haha! I feel that after application, my face looks less orange. LOL. And also my face looks a little more radiant than before and has a healthy little glow ツ LOL. To be honest, I don’t really know what to say about the difference. And I also not sure whether it’s the lighting or not.
I took the pictures with the sunlight coming in from the window. You see for yourself and you evaluate. Haha!
Anyway, Palgantong Base of Base Satin Yellow offers you medium coverage and is able to even out you skin tone and conceal minor blemishes. Notice on my before picture, there’s a slight red spot on my nose. Haha! I also don’t know how it happen. But in the after picture, you can still see it if you look really long and hard. Haha! Otherwise, it’s pretty much not there.
With SPF 25 PA ++, you can skip your sun block! Hehe. I notice that when I use this product, my face’s shininess has reduced. Or rather my face didn’t turn into a kuali (frying wok) so fast. After about 4 hours, I still like the feeling of my face and hence, I shall rate this a 8/10 according to Kimee standards. Haha.
