Did the title of my post catch your attention? I LOVE the name of Janna's blog :)
To be honest, I just love Janna period. She's such a sweetheart! So today it is my pleasure to introduce you to her!

Hiya, I'm Janna! I'm a small town girl, college graduate, happy wife, and of course- blogger, but I'm STILL trying to figure it all out! Perhaps that's why I like to blog... I feel like we learn a lot from each other, but we also find ourselves in the process.  Blogging is also helping me get through our first deployment, which is a true blessing and means more to me than I can even explain. Do please come say hello, and help me keep my sanity or at least giggle with me when I'm delirious.  Both should be a good time!

See, I told you she was awesome :) I had the opportunity to ask Janna a few questions so that we could get to know her better. 1. Okay I have to know, where did the name of your blog come from?
Photobucket
It all started with the decision to begin a blog. I actually tried to start one previously, but wasn't sure of my own intent. I knew I wanted to be able to share our life with family and friends, as we get stationed far away from them, but I also wanted find a way to be positive BECAUSE we were so far away. The hubby and I (yes, he is awesome and participates) tossed around many ideas, but I kept coming back to the term 'perception'. In my twenty's, I have learned that I can't control what happens to us or where we are shipped off to, but I can control how I perceive everything. I'm pretty sure I have always been somewhat of an optimist, but now I definitely live by the mantra that perception really IS everything.

2.  Describe your perfect day!
My perfect day would solely include having my soldier home! Whether we laid in each other's arms napping, cuddled up and watched movies, took a picnic to our "spot", or even just ran errands...all that would matter...was that I was doing it with him. I am very proud of what he does, but I want him home with me! My life just isn't complete without him. True story.

3.  What items are in your purse right this second?
Photobucket
Yeah...pretty much standard, but my hidden gems are the wallet photos of my hubby. Thanks to FedEx,  I was able to laminate them for safe keeping. Don't you think lamination is fun?...Just me?

4. What is your favorite time of the day and why?
That's an easy one...After I wake up and grab my coffee (of course), I snuggle back in my bed and watch the sun rise on the mountains. It is the most breathtaking and awe inspiring way to start the day! I do miss living in Florida and the beaches, but I can't exactly complain about my new scenery ;)

5. What are your 5 favorite books?
Photobucket
#1 The Proper Care & Feeding of Husbands:
In this case you can totally judge a book by it's cover. Some might find the idea of "taking care" of their husbands old school, but let me just tell you- If you take care of your husband, HE will TAKE CARE of YOU. I practice this in my marriage happily.
#2 Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire:
We all love Harry Potter, so I'll just share my favorite of the series. The first few are obviously great and get you hooked, but it was the fourth installment that solidified my love for the series. If you've read it, you know that it is full of fun with the Quidditch World Cup and The Triwizard Tournament, it has a lighter feel than the last few books, and much growth of the characters. If you haven't read it...what are you waiting for?
#3 The Giving Tree:
Surprised I picked a children's book? You shouldn't be, and you won't be if you have experienced this book for yourself. It simply, yet poignantly, teaches us a life lesson of the human condition. I say poignantly, because people still argue the Author's intent. Pretty deep for a children's book. Plus it is by Shel Silverstein. That alone makes it a must read in my book.
#4 The End of Overeating:
I tend to investigate everything, so when I stumbled upon this book, I had to check it out. I am very glad I did, because this book is a jackpot of info. It doesn't just focus on overeating; It makes you understand why we are attracted to fast food (food in general) and how we can control it. I honestly think that it has allowed me to control all of my impulses. That's pretty impressive.
#5 The Handmaid's Tale:
If you like George Orwell's 1984, then you will definitely like this book.  It is also a dystopian novel, but focuses on oppressed women. I find it not only enthralling, but eye opening. I will warn you that it's a little dark, but will definitely make you think.
