Tonight will see the first full moon of summer. If you’re wondering why that’s newsworthy, well then you’ll be excited (or at least slightly interested) to learn that it’s the first of three supermoons.
Yes, that’s right, it’s a summer of supermoons.
And for all of you non-astronomy nerds, that means the full moon will line up with the point in the moon’s orbit when it’s closest to Earth. Which means it will appear bigger and brighter than a regular full moon. Pretty exciting, right?
Okay, that should be enough of a break. Now it’s back to two(ish) more glorious days of World Cup soccer (or football).
