Bacolod Cathedral, which is most popularly known as the Cathedral of San Sebastian, was originally a small church constructed through the leadership of Fr. Julian Gonzaga in 1825. From a small church made of wood, it was built into a cathedral made of coral stone through the supervision of Fr. Mauricio Ferrero. It was inaugurated on 20 January 1882 on the feast of Saint Sebastian.
