It was an amazing day…
Summer time temperatures, second handstore shopping rocked.
Mustang ran like a dream once I got the new battery in her.
I started the day by getting my grocery shopping done in the morning, which I NEVER do. The store is amazingly busy in the morning though, who knew? I usually shop later in the day, after work most days. I thought I would miss the rush. I was wrong.
All good though, I bought veggies and fruit…no crap. I am serious about this diet thing. I have never had to pay attention to my weight in my LIFE. I do now. I am not ok with the way my body is right now. I am making a change.
On the way to the second hand store, I stopped to get a new battery for the Mustang, as my other one was pooched. The guy at the desk was a total dumbass. I mean that in the nicest way, but I have gone to this store for about 11 years. These guys know me. This guy was new. I outright admitted I know nothing about car batteries, or what the difference is. The last time I bought a battery it was about a hundred bucks. This year I can’t possibly afford to pay that much for a battery, when I know for a fact that I can get one for a way more reasonable price. So he tells me, the same battery I am returning is $140. I say no.
I don’t want the same battery. It was supposed to be super bitchen and the best thing ever. Bullshit. It lasted the same amount of time a normal one does. I will trickle charge it over the winter, give me the cheap one. He then goes down to $110 one…no, still not ok. So we discuss a little.
I ask what the difference is between batteries. What do I really even need? He says well when you have power windows and stuff it sucks more power.
DUDE…I just 4 minutes ago told you I have a 67 Mustang. The only power I need, is to start the fucking engine.
We discuss more. I think he gets it.
He then finds a battery that is $100.99.
Yep, that is what he said.
I said, cheaper.
What have you got that is not ridiculous? He is worried about where the posts are on the battery. I say, I have long cables, it doesn’t matter where they are.
CHEAPER.
Oh look, he says, here is one for $50.
Really???
That’s better.
What’s the difference there then? Well we have gone from 650 crank something something…to 450 crank something something.
SOLD.
Why did that have to be so difficult?
I then went to the Salvation Army second hand store, I got some cool stuff :)
A really cute grey sweater tank top and some great beige shorts. I am also totally challenged at home with drinking glasses. I found 5. Two that match some I already have and three really fun ones. They were all 70 cents each.
Nice.
I then went and got some of my pond plants, the fishies now have some duckweed to devour and I have some oxygenators in the pond to help with the sludge issues. I just need a few more plants now and some snails :)
I came home from the garden centre, threw my stuff in the pond and hooked up the battery on the Stang.
I couldn’t wait to get in and go for a drive…
I am never disappointed.
She purred…
she growled…
she went fast.
I love my car.
We drove to the other end of town, to my favorite second hand store, my friend Chris owns it…
I cleaned up…
Two pairs of Capri’s, the absolutely cutest summer top EVER, a kick ass pair of plaid shorts…NICE…
I actually felt cute again by the time I was done.
I then stopped at my other friend Gloria’s second hand store… she bought two homemade laundry soap off of me…$14…I sold a scarf in her store…$20… I find a cute top, $10…made $24. Works for me.
I then stopped at the liquor store and bought 6 of my favorite new drinks…Saskatoon berry Growers Cider…Yummy. I am in love.
Probably a mistake.
I am thinking now.
As I type.
Half cut.
With a losing hockey team.
For the second night in a row.
I should never watch hockey and drink.
Especially when we lose.
The second game. Of the finals. Of the Stanley Cup.
It’s ok though. Friday is another night, we are tied in the series 2-2. I mean you didn’t think we were just going to take it in four did you? Well I did.
It’s ok, it is better that we win it at home. We have been put in our place at this point but I have still not given up hope that we can take this, that the cup can be ours.
I am not going to tell you that those two huge losses have not been a hard pill to swallow though…
I have been a diehard fan since the beginning of the season. I will be with the team til the end, win or lose.
I cried a little bit…
I think I am PMS’ing…I am sure you needed to know that.
Just warning you is all.
I work Thursday, and then Friday I am off and I get my tattoo finished off. An hour before the game starts…Obviously I booked the appointment 4 months ago and didn’t think about the timing.
Maybe it will be better luck if I don’t start watching til the second period.
Wearing the shirt religiously and taking the bra off as soon as the game starts, didn’t seem to work the last two games, so maybe we should shake it up a little, right?
Anyways…
Happy Thursday my loves…
