At the very edge of the millpond in Centerport
sits an exceedingly small cottage once lived in by Helen Torr and Arthur Dove two excellent American modernist painters.
This is their view.
The water laps right against the foundations. Looking at a lot of leaves rather carefully puts me in mind of H.D.Thoreaux at Walden. I fear I have a rather Thoreauxesque view of nature. Love it to bits, but am liable to go off to people's houses for warm dinners. Nice to look at, but awful hard work at the same time.
How pretty the poison ivy is this time of year!
And the lichen on the stump of a rotted tree.
