Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana For Benefit of Women

Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) comes into execution after the launch of its implementation guidelines by Maneka Gandhi, the Minister of Women & Child Development. The pan-India implementation of this scheme is with effect from 1st January 2017 as per Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement. Ministry of Women & Child Development in collaboration with State Governments will be responsible for the overall implementation and execution. During the launch, in addition, Maneka Gandhi also releases an important training module for Anganwadi workers. It is Early Childhood Care and Education Training Module. The purpose of this training module is to equip the Anganwadi workers with a basic understanding.

This understanding includes the knowledge of ECCE curriculum and pedagogical approaches in order to ensure an optimal and holistic development of young children in the country. If this happens, today’s children will be ready to start formal schooling at the age of six years. In fact, there is another important component of the psychosocial development of children below the age of three years. This is again to educate Anganwadi workers responsibly counsel parents on early stimulation. Right execution of Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojna will have a long term positive impact on the future of the nation. As a matter of fact, there is another important module. It is ICDS Training module and e-training module. The purpose of this module is to improve the service delivery framework of ICDS program.

If the implementation and execution of Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojna happen flawlessly, it will definitely help in accelerating better outcomes. It will not only benefit the women across the country but the younger generation also will become stronger. UNICEF and Ambedkar University are assisting in developing the guidelines booklets. Overall, it depends on the monitoring mechanism to ensure successful implementation of the scheme in all states. At the same time, it should also focus on its timely execution.
