This family has gotten "heat" over their 9-1-1 call where the mother stated “We came in during the day time and we got completely lost and we have no idea where we are, I’m really scared. It’s really dark and we’ve got a 3-week-old baby with us.” The family got lost by the bridge in the center of the horse.
Thankfully the police force came to the rescue. The 9-1-1 operator instructed the family to yell "Hello, K-9" until they were found. At the time they were found the family was only 25 ft. from the exit and the search took appox. 5 mins to conduct.
As a mother and a sufferer of Panic Disorder I do feel that this woman made the right choice for her and her children. Regardless of how the media plays this out to be. Having 2 children is scary enough on its own but being lost in a maze in the dark is even more terrifying. Instead of critizing this family I am applauding their efforts to ensure the safety of their children for many reasons.
First one being, there was a 3 week old baby involved in this event. Massachusetts can be very cold this time of year especially when the sun goes down. I believe this mother made the right choice. People can laugh all they want about it but a mothers job is to protect her children.
The family was offered free tickets to retry the maze and declined. Conners Farm is now placing a marker in the maze where the family got stuck. Although I feel this is a low blow to the family.
Thats all I have to say about that.
