Random Saturday Stuff

We had a fun and busy week and we're having a good weekend!!
This morning we all slept in. My husband took Bug out for donuts and took her grocery shopping. I think she had a fun time going out with him! And I took Little C out with me. We went to Starbucks for a little breakfast and my frappucino addiction. Believe it or not but this is the first time I've gone out alone with Little C since he was a little baby. I really enjoyed spending the morning with him and let's just say things are A LOT calmer when you're out with one toddler instead of two! We stopped at a couple garage sales where I found tons of kids clothing, a few books and a couple toys ALL for under $12. I love garage sales! We also stopped by the library, then came home for lunch and naps. I'm getting my hair cut/trimmed this afternoon for the first time in months! I'm really excited about that. :)
Last night I took the kids out and was able to get some Christmas shopping done. I bought a Thomas the Train set for Little C and a few craft kits for Bug.
We also went to the Dollar Tree and picked out lots of little goodies for our Good Samaritan boxes. I was really excited to explain to Bug what we were doing and let her pick out some things. We had two boxes: one for a boy and one for a girl. Bug was so cute walking around and picking out things. At one point she carefully picked up a stack of Snowman paper plates and carried them over to add to our boxes. :) So cute... but I had to explain they wouldn't fit in the boxes
(not to mention paper plates aren't really the kind of thing we would send. :)
Every year I wish I could climb in the box and travel along with it to meet these kids. I always wonder about the children who are going to get our boxes... where they're from, what their situation is. I think we'll include a note and family photo in our boxes this year and maybe they'll write us back. I hope so. :) Maybe one day we can deliver boxes ourselves!
We're turning the boxes in at church tomorrow. Every year they have all the kids at church line up to put the boxes on the stage. Bug was too little to do it last year and her class is probably still too young this year but I'm really looking forward to watching her carry a box up there one year. :)
Well, I hope everyone is having a great weekend! I have a lot to do around here today and have a couple more errands to run this evening.
