My 14 month old son....who is very very nearly 15 months old....isn't in his own bedroom yet.
Yes that's right, he still sleeps in his cot in our bedroom just like he has ever since he came home from the hospital.
For the first year I was reluctant to move him into his own bedroom.
We were all happy with the sleeping arrangements, there was no harm done.
But I must admit...the past few months he has remained in our bedroom more out of ease for me than anything else.
I simply never get around to sorting out his bedroom!
It's been painted and decorated since we moved into this house 11 months ago.
But it needed finishing touches like a light installing and curtains hanging.
This week those jobs have finally been completed.
It just remains for me to move the boxes of clothes that don't fit anymore, toys he's too old for etc out of his bedroom and find a new home for them....and then he can finally move in!
I won't show full photos of the bedroom until everything is finally finished and he's all moved in....which I'm hoping will be by the end of June!
But in the meantime, I thought I'd give a little sneak peak of some of the key new pieces in there.
The carpet is Tyne's bedroom wouldn't be what we would personally choose but as we're renting and we don't intend to stay in this house long term, there's no point in us paying out for a new one...so the best thing for us to do was get a rug!
We were very kindly sent this Sea Adventure rug from a company called My Rug Store to try out, and it was perfect!
My Rug Store offer different sizes but we went with the 82 x 160 which was the perfect size to cover the carpet in the center of the room between Tyne's cot and his reading corner.
The carpet is super soft and comfortable for when he's crawling around, and the design is stunning.

We also needed some storage for Tyne's room as he just has an insane amount of "stuff"!
There are so many little toys and things lying around, that it was beginning to drive me ever so slightly mad....so when we offered the chance to review some storage solutions from one of my favorite stores Wilko I jumped at the chance!
We chose this 6 bin Vehicle storage - I loved the colours and the transport theme matched the theme of Tyne's room well, I love the idea of bin storage as it makes tidy-up time so easy.
Instead of lugging things back and forward to immobile storage you just carry the bins around with you! So much easier!
The storage bins are very decent sizes, you can get plenty in each one and I think it is so attractive to look at.
It was super easy to put together too which is always a bonus!
This is available HERE for £39.99
I'll be back at the end of June with an update on (hopefully!) Tyne's transition to his own big boy bedroom, and to show the finished look!
Competition The lovely people at Wilko are giving one lucky Sparkles & Stretchmarks reader the chance to win some fantastic childrens storage of their own!
They are giving one reader this gorgeous Stackable Bear Storage Unit!
As you can see, we have one ourselves and I absolutely LOVE it!
It lives in our living room and keeps all of Tyne's cars, trains, jigsaw puzzles, books and teddies firmly tidied away - the brown means it doesn't stand out too much in our living room but the teddy bear design makes it fun for Tyne, he LOVES going over and helping himself to his toys out of it.
I highly recommend this!
