Recycling is a Beautiful Thing

We all know that drinking water is good for you, especially for your skin.  So it goes without saying that many of us don't leave our home without a bottle of water.
Unfortunately, drinking bottled water may actually be bad for our environment.
How so?  You might be asking yourself.
Sadly only about 30% of those PET plastic bottles get recycled!
30%?!
The rest end-up in landfills!

Recycling Facts

Thankfully, we have the power to make a difference by making small changes that will help our environment.

These are a few things that I personally do to support recycling:

  1. Carry a paper bag in the trunk of my car where I place the empty plastic bottles I consume when I am out.  When I get home I empty my bag into the recycle bin.  Simple!
  2. I use my office recycle bin. Seems simple enough, until you realize that many of us don't recycle because it's not convenient or near our desk. Take that short walk or place a recycling bin next to your trash can.
  3. Support companies that use recycled materials by buying their products.  One great example of a company that gets it is Arrowhead which sells drinking water in a ReBorn Bottle. This new bottle made from 50% recycled plastic – material that can be recycled again and again, so there is no end to its usefulness!
  4. Repurpose before buying new. How many times have you been ready to throw-out something that was perfectly OK because you got tired of it?  What if I told you that you could make a couple of simple changes to renew that "thing" while saving money?  That is exactly my thought process that I go through before I throw-out anything useful.  Be it a piece of furniture or clothing. (p.s. I have saved THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS!)
  5. Get inspired!  See, and buy, products that are made from materials that we normally throw in the trash.  How can you not recycle when a plastic bottle (or two) can be used to create beautiful things?!

I invite you to learn more about recycling, by watching “Recycling Is A Beautiful Thing.” I promise that watching this video will inspire you with the beauty of recycling.

And, of course, come back and tell me how you stay beautiful by recycling.
