Refocus

I’ve been a little scatter brained lately, this happens when I become overwhelmed and let my mind go astray.  My mind starts going places it doesn’t need to go, I become forgetful, I lose things (like my car key, I still have yet to find), I don’t get things done that I need to get done because of that overwhelming feeling.  Then the feeling starts to compound.  I know for me when my mind is in the right place, I am so much more focused. Life just becomes “easier”… joyful!!  There are a few things I personally do and need to do regularly to keep my mind focused.

1. Meditate. Meditate. Meditate.  I feel so at peace when I’m mediating regularly. Either at the buddhist center for guided mediation, at yoga, or at home for a quick mind check.I always feel better when I’m mediating regularly.

2. Writing out my gratitude lists. Might sound silly, as I am a very grateful person and I recognize how blessed I am, but writing it down does help.  It makes me see, visualize and really contemplate on what I’m grateful for at this moment. Always puts things into perspective.

3. A clean house. As much as I dislike spending my off time cleaning, a clean and organized house helps.  It just does.

4. Being outside. When I have long days working I forget to go outside. Not good. I need to be outside more. The feeling of the sun, the sounds, the air (the ocean) all bring me focus.

5. Being creative. Releasing my inner artist.

Time to refocus.
