I observe – for the past months – that one of my smoking friends has his way of smoking cigars and each time the same movements will take place, each time in deep perception as to what the intaking and the exhaling of smoke are.
There is an intensity in the verbal expression of most of his thoughts, also in the level with which he has come to the specific thought being expressed – be it through his constant reading or through his life experiences.
Only when he takes those seconds in between sentences to enjoy his cigar, the attention is apparently solely to the taste and the smoke. He raises his head, lets smoke out with closed eyes and soon after is back with us.
Again and again.
