Remember to Take a Break Sometimes

Life with children bears little resemblance to the carefree existence you had before they came along, when all you had to worry about was yourself. That’s not to say you’d have it any differently, of course, but there are times when you’re a mom that you can feel pulled every which way and never have time for a break. However, if you don’t make time for yourself every now and then, you’ll liable to get stressed and wound up and end up feeling impatient with everyone around you, including the kids. So even though it may seem a bit selfish to take time out for yourself, it will actually do all of you some good. You don’t have to go far from home to achieve this – in fact you don’t even have to leave the house. So there’s no need to book a babysitter, or get Granny to come and watch the kids. There are plenty of ways you can take a break at home when the baby’s napping or the children are watching their favorite TV show.

Have a play onlinePlaytime’s not just for the kids. As long as you can get online you can have access to thousands of different games. To start with, you will find an amazing selection of games at www.bgo.com/vegas. bgo is one of many online sites that offer a wide selection. Other options include and are not limited to Costa Bingo, 888 and Ladbrokes. The great thing about playing games like slots is that you can dip in and out of them whenever you have time. You don’t have to block out a period of time – five minutes is all you need for a few rounds of fun. And you don’t need to place bets with real money – most of the games on casino sites are available in demo mode.  Playing with real money is somehow always a little more entertaining, though!Take a breatherIf you feel really exhausted and are craving a nap, but don’t have the time to take one, try this instead. Lie down with the blinds or curtains drawn, having turned off all electronic devices so you won’t be disturbed. Close your eyes and focus simply on the pattern of your breathing. Allow that focus to be the only thing you think about and you’ll gradually start to breathe more slowly and more deeply. Five minutes of concentrating on your breathing can give you a real energy boost and when you go back to the normal routine, you’ll feel like you’ve had a power nap!Be self-indulgentDon’t just sit down and have a coffee while you check your emails. You can do that later. Take five minutes to give yourself a mini-treatment. Massage some moisturiser into your hands or feet or file your nails and give them a polish. These treats don’t have to be done at the end of the day when the kids are in bed. Give yourself a little lift by taking care of yourself in the middle of the day! However you choose to relax it’ll give you a boost and make the rest of your day go far more smoothly than if you just try to keep going. Make me time a part of your daily routine – you’ll feel better for it.
