Restaurant Review- The Insomnia

Posted on the 17 December 2013 by Justalovelythought @justalovelythou
Its been a while since I have had a chance to step out for dinner, movie, play or any recreational activity. Neither does whatever is happening around excited or enthuse me much to write about anything. Hate to say this but yes, work has totally consumed me so much that I hardly had time to do anything.Though this inaction filled me with guilt. As the gods understood my plight and suddenly yesterday there was an impromptu plan to visit a small little outlet in my vicinity(Malad Link Road) called, The Insomnia. Though I did not think that the place would give me any reason to write since I had been there once long ago and did not find it exceptional. However, yesterday I was proven wrong. We ordered Veg Green Thai curry with burnt garlic rice and Insomnia special Maggi with chicken. While waiting for the order I had a good look around the joint. Its a nice, little, cosy joint with a TV! The Menu on the table, certainly did not look like its going making a hole in your pocket. Pity that I did not take pictures either of the food or of the outlet which I shall rectify and update the post with my next visit. Finally, my maggi arrived. To put it in one word, it was the BEST and HOTTEST maggi I had ever eaten. Apart from usual maggi masala flavor it had red chillies and some other thing which I could not figure out. Carrot, Onion, Capsicum were regulars and the juicy pieces of chicken were the cherries on the cake. I finished it before I knew. Second to arrive was Green Thai curry. My first reaction was wow! After eating the maggi my expectation had certainly soared up. Looking at the rice I almost smiled. It looked as innocent as the rice in your home. No Color! Fried shreds and pieces of garlic were quite visible and adding to the taste. The Curry was hot, vegetables fresh and crisp and the mix and blend of the curry was just perfect.Extremely impressed by the food, we left the place, delighted.
